Hey guys just wondering if anyone has had any experiences with the new LED light bulb replacements for in your house. I found a website where I could buy them to outfit my house, but it was gonna cost like $2000 for the bulbs. Is this worth it? They claim that they are 90% more effecient than regular bulbs, but how much of a normal electric bill is from the lights? Maybe 25%?

not with the leds, but have changed over to the florescent ones, havent noticed any change in $, cuz now I just leave the lights on:D hell they never burn out any more:rock:

but i do know the leds are much more efficient than the reg bulbs, and a ton more brighter, , I guess depending on how much lighting is used and the size of the house, it should or could make a small difference:dontknow:

Even if a guy had a $150 elec bill and if you used even half of that for lights. So $75 and take 90% of that = $67.50 savings per month. That means it would take 30 months to pay for the lights. But also saving a tiny bit for not having to buy anymore bulbs to replace burnt out ones. 30 months isnt too bad, but I dont think that you would use $75 a month for lights. Maybe a guys should just wait a couple years and the prices should drop.

I dont know bo, I have saved a ton honestly in just bulbs.
In my shop I used to replace the regular bulbs(I got 6 celing fans in addition to florecent long bulbs) and replaced all the regular bulbs with the ones from lowes, and in a year havent replaced one yet:rock:
Now I used to replace them once ever couple weeks, and I also started replacing them in the house and havent replaced one in the house in awhile.

So that alone has saved a ton.

So maybe jsut order a few at a time, and slowly replace the existing ones, and with the leds, you may slowly see a difference in ya bill.

Stop taking hot showers...........just eliminate the hot water heater, that'll save ya tons of cash..............but you'll be miserable and the gf/wife will hate ya!!! LOL

I havnt switched any of the bulbs...........they are just so freaken expensive.
