I think one of the neighborhood kids crashed their bike into my back bumper. The bumper is plastic so other then getting the whole bumper repainted I don't know what to do. Can I just buy some touch up paint? Here is the pic of the bumper.

wet sand and buff if it and be felt with a finger nail other then that compound

I don't know who did the damage. I leave in Military housing and there is a plethora of kids around here.

DO NOT PLACE DRINKS ON THE BUMPER!

If it's into the paint/color, you'll need to fill the scratch with paint. Apply the paint with a match-stick or something similar. The point is to completely fill the scratch - a build-up if you will. Then you can wet-sand to knock down the build up, then buff to kinda blend it all in.

If it just into the clear only, wet-sand and buff.

take finger prints on that beer can on the bumper, then you will find the culprit.

I use the same technique for fixing paint chips -- never tried a scratch though. Luckily all of my scratches have buffed out.

Try using 3M's 6060 compound first -- if the scratch isn't too deep. I have had good luck with this stuff. FYI: If you rub through the clear coat, its paint shop time.

The scratch is really deep. The drink on the bumper is in a neoprine holder and it is only Dr. Pepper.
