How do You Buff your truck??

Okay...I've been doing it by hand but there are some minor scuffs and stuff. Plus I want to bring out that extra shine....so What kind of buffer do you use? I'm not really to keen on what kind, how to, how long,etc........

Oh...and can I pick up a couple Zaino bars at the local Auto Zone or do I have to order off the Net?:dontknow:

Zaino is off the net only.

I love the Zaino products, but I do not use their claybar. It's to dense in my opinion. I use Groits claybars. While it sounds funny, but Groits is softer and does not stick as much. Also since it's softer it keeps the particals it picks up suspended in the bar better so you do not scratch the paint.

Me? I do everything by hand. Don't like to use power equipment when I'm drinking.

Krazy, I second what Silverback says about Griot's claybar...I use it all the time.

I do use an orbital buffer for polishing and buffing...the final buff is by hand...just like you in the shower...if you buy the buffer from Griot's they will send you a finish manual that tells all...

Have never tried Zaino but plan to in the long cold months of Jan and Feb...

Where's the fun in that? :dontknow: To me detailing a vehicle is an all day excuse to drink beer

and enjoy myself.

Besides that, no one washes my vehicles except me.

All it takes is one little piece of shit in a wash mit and your screwed.

I do agree with the excuse for drinking and the natural aversion to power tools while drunk...but hopefully I can buff it with an orbital before its too late!:dontknow:

Oh and ya know that old addage..."It'll buff out...."

Zaino bros all the way. I have been so busy with work , i havent had a chance to get a put a coat on and she was looking horrible. I finally got a chance to put a coat on yesterday evening and WOW it was like brand new. Zaino is the shit.....

I use Meguiar's product exclusively. They are easy to understand, and readily available at most stores. Start with this series of online videos and then let us know if you have any other questions...

Been using Mequiars for years now...but they arent really all that. As a matter of fact, I have been using that New stuff they came out with for show cars....not really worth the money....IMO...But I will watch the videos to see the pointers Jake! Thanks Brah!!!

Do it by hand!

Inexperience+Orbital Buffer=swirl marks galore.

Even experienced pros have a hard time sometimes with swirl marks. I would do it by hand, after the claybar (A must!) the Zaino polishes and finishes are very easy to use and buff. I always do my own waxing and polishing, and I have used tons of different kinds, this stuff blew me away because of how easy it was to use.

Oh I wash mine myself but when it comes to buffing and waxing, the detail shop down the street will buff and handwax the truck for a hundred bucks. I aint cryin about that!!!!

I have that Right-Angle Orbital Buffer... It is VERY easy to use. Very nice machine for the money.

Pretty good results from this tool...
