figured i'd show the newbies how easy it is to lose control.

it was the second time i took the truck out since i bought it. i was driving on a 2 lane road exactly 1 mile from home at about 1 am. i had a friend with me and i had a local officer behind me for about 3 miles. it had just rained for about 3 minutes and i was in 4th gear at 45 mph. i came to the top of a long hill and the tires just let loose. the back kicked to the right extremely fast and then caught and shot us at a tree at 45 mph. i got lucky and hit a HUGE bolder that stopped us from hitting the tree. when we hit the boulder the rear kept going to the right (straight down the road) and we ended up facing the way we were heading. no one was hurt and it held up amazingly well. the wheels are straight, the tire was even good. all i did to fix it was buy a new bumper support, cover and remount the tire. my friend put it on a frame machine and it is straight as a arrow. we got lucky. btw the back bumper is 1 inch away from a rock wall in the woods. talk about luck

I had no idea you had that accident when you first got your truck. You must have been so depressed!!!!! Man it looks ugly and you were quite lucky. I never phock around when the roads are wet.......never.

the cop almost wrecked also cause he didnt realize what happened. he was gonna stop me when we got to a safer place (with a shoulder)to look at the truck he said. then he realized it was me and congratulated me on the truck and said he was sorry it happened. he said there was nothing i could have done once it let loose. i happened too fast. i've had trucks kick out before, but this thing just turned sideways immediately. like i said thou, the damage was so minor i was driving it the next day.

thanks. happened a couple years ago but still remember it like it was yesturday

I had a close call, in the rain the tires spin EASYLY nomatter the speed. I was on 45 S and came up on a slow 18 wheeler, I went from 6th back to 5th and gave it some gas to get around(not that much either). As soon as I made it to the front the rear let lose and went sidways. Luckly I recovered and after a undy's change I was ok.

Wow that sucks... glad all is well tho. I dont want to think about ever getting into an accident with my truck.

Yeah, I've seen a SRT spin out on the highway. Not a fun sight to see. I try to drive the 4x4 when raining. It's fun to fly past people in the rain worried to slide off the road.
