My 06 has 30k miles and I am thinking about picking up a used set of calipers and getting them powder coated at jmb. How hard (got tools, no experience) would it be to swap calipers and put new (stock) pads on?

actually it's only a few bolts and bleeding the breaks ----rate 1 to 10 I would say a 2 ...Somewhere on the forum are the instructions on how to do this.....

I had a brake shop down the street install new (powdercoated) front and rear calipers and Stinkers braided stainless lines and they charged me for 3 hours of labor. This was including a full brake fluid flush as well... I'm sure I could have done it myself but it was worth $180 just to have it done for me.

A man after my own heart!

I would have to spend at least an hour just cleaning my fingernails...help the national economy, use skilled craftsmen to do the work they do so well!
