how loud will these be?

what does common sense have to do with making 1000 hp?

Well it is the common sense approach! Why put a large exhaust from the manifold back and leave the restriction at the cylinder head to increase heat and detonation. If you look at REAL FAST cars that run mufflers they all have headers. If you have been through 5 different exhaust systems there is obviously a problem. Just trying to give you a little common sense thinking, a lot of times you left coast folks don't have a lot of common sense :D :D

as there is no common sense or any sense for that matter in this post I will just assume you are kidding....

My point was that you have highly modified the air and fuel mixture going into the engine (air pump) beyond factory engineering. Common sense tells me that you could make more power by allowing the mixtue a larger and smoother transition out of the cylinder heads than the factory engineered manifolds. Why buy Striker heads and then restrict there exhaust flow with manifolds? Don't get me wrong Mike you have a fast truck but I bet you a 100.00 that if you install a good set of longtubes with 4 inch mufflers and tune accordingly you will make 5 to 10% more power.

yikes not this topic again.....:D ....and I don't have Strikers...if I had head work then I would need headers but since I don't....I don't...:D If I need more power...I up the shot...that is free....

as for mufflers, I'd use the magnaflow 3". no baffles to rip out and no restrictions.

The Magnaflow muffler is necked down to 2 1/2" at the X crossover inside the muffler.

hmm, well I do know that the magnaflow I got is 3" all the way through with no crossover.

stop trying to convince the man he needs headers, he's got the fastest truck with 100% relieabilty, sounds like he has a little "common sense" he posted a question about mufflers, just my $.02 but people should post any info they have on the topic of the original post, not try and tell someone how to setup their truck, Mike I think those mufflers would definately solve your problem, my question is how loud would it be, my B&B system w/no cats is as loud as I would want to be, would welding in 2 of these make it much louder, what's the db compared to the B&B

Ever looked inside one ? It has an "X-type" crossover inside the muffler itself.;)
