how many driver their trucks everyday

My truck is not a daily driver and just doesn't fit for me daily. I don't like the performance brakes/suspension/tires for daily driving. I would rather drive my Dakota. I never have to worry about the Dak getting scratched and can park it/leave it anywhere without worrying about it. The Dak also handles perfect in the rain and has 4x4 for winter or mud.
Don't get me wrong, I love the 10 and it is great enjoyment to drive just not daily for me. I never take it in the rain and it never sits outside. I guess everyone to their own and there's mine.

daily driver and moded. The ony thing that sucks is rush hour or gridlock you will get a leg work out. Have to disagree with the rain issue I put yokohoma prada spec on and rain is not an issue if you drive normal:D Snow I drove it once just to try the tires worked very well but I wasnt planning on winter driving anyway. It is all common sense I used to be a 5th gear only but with a great tune 6th gear nets 21mpg at 68 mph. Just check it over, the only problem I had with my 04 is the crank pulley, so I guess it starts out with what you buy, just check it over carefully if its an 04 ask if the pulley has been done.Just my 2cents:marchmellow:

My RC is now my daily driver. Here are some of my observations:

Gas, the V-10 is not a hybrid. I'm lucky to get 10mph in rush hour traffic.

Brake dust, the brakes are performance and dust is a by-product. If you want the wheels to look nice, be prepared to clean them often or swap out brake pads that produce less dust. The latter may factor a performance trade off into the equation.

So far tire wear hasn't been an issue. This comes down to driving style and maintenance.

The truck demands respect in wet weather conditions. In the wet, the truck under acceleration and braking can be a hand full.

Do a search and you will find threads on other common problems and failure modes with both modified and unmodified vehicles. Good information in here. Before deciding on a vehicle, do due diligence; have it checked by a impartial third party and try and find as much past history as you can on the vehicle, besides what Carfax says. Good luck with your truck search and purchase.

Mine is a daily driver, although I don't drive her daily. My SRT-8 is more suited to be, and is more considered my daily ride.

DD 05 QC with 42Kmi as long as you don't mind frequent fillup's....if you had a 7.3 it will use gas just as fast, if not faster..I had a 6.0L

I drive my truck everyday. I have 55k miles and about 25k of those with the Paxton SC. Basically fill the gas tank every 5-7 days and change the oil every 3k miles.

i drive mine daily and love it just get rid of the pirelli scorpions and it rides 100 percent better i switched to contis.

Daily driver/hauler with my RC. 86K miles. Lots of common issues but all seem to be easily addressed...welcome.

driving in the weather is fine as long as you respect the truck, cause the second you dont your ass will be in a ditch. i even drove mine home from the ER one night 20 miles in a ice storm. if you drive civilly it will go in just about any weather.

well im going to be looking at a truck a few miles from me that came from hawaii and a salvage title. here is what the current owner says about the truck

"I bought the truck after the repairs so no photos. I have had the truck for over 2 years and have not found anything wrong with it. It drives incredible.
The guy I bought it from told me it was not hurt too bad. It came from Hawaii and he said that there was not an insurance adjuster there for that company
So they just totaled it. I called the auction place and they told me it sold for 30k before it was fixed so it must not have too bad.

My price is about 5,000 below the cheapest ones I am finding.
It has a X-Metal lowering kit
Short throw shifter
K&N air filter
New center force clutch
Rear end welded for strength by 9Inch warehouse
I have the wing"

He's asking $17,500 for it. I dont have a vin number yet but i'll check carfax to see what they say once i get it.

Welcome, did'nt buy it to sit around.........gittin ready to clock 30 tho miles.....:burnout: :burnout: :burnout: :burnout: :burnout:

04 RC daily driver. I love driving the truck everyday!!! Gas sucks but it's worth every penny. In the next year I'm probably gonna get a beater car or my wife will give me her mazda 3 and I'll use those as my DD. I just want to keep the value in it with low mileage. I'm about to roll over 40K.

I drive mine a few times a week from march-october if it is nice outside, if not she stays inside.

Drive it everyday, 46000 miles and love it.

17,000 is way to much money for a salvage title truck....
