how much does an RC weigh????

one thing you might also want to check is the 04 models the viper engine and tranny were listed as options it was sold as a regualr ram.

the 05and06's were totally different they were actually listed as viper rams.

My ins and taxes are practically nothing out here because when I run the vin it comes up as a regular ram truck

The 05 SRT is rated to carry a HIGHER payload then the regular 1/2 ton Ram. If I recall its rated at 1750lbs versus 1500lbs. I for one am glad the factory rated it over 6300 gvw. Doing so made it a tax right-off for me.

Az is a bit high for registration as well....think mine was just over $500 this past year, however, I make up for it by not having vehicle specific insurance.

Hate to say this Chuck, but the payload rating on your 05 RC is less than 800 pounds. It's either 720 or 780, I forget which.

The 05 QC's were rated to carry and tow more than a standard 1500 if I remember right, but not the RC's.

We had a real pissing match one time regarding this back on the NFFF site. I stopped and got mine weighed. Full tank of gas, spare, and my fat ass (I was about 2 donut holes away from 260 at that time) the truck weighed 5460 pounds. 3040 on the front axle and 2420 on the rear. That gave us a 56/44 F/R weight distribution. These trucks are not as nose heavy as some think.

Interesting...I'll have to look at where I read that and consider the source again. Fact is Dodge did put 6300GVW. That I do know as I had to show proof to my CPA (he didn't believe me either) before he would signoff on the writeoff.

I believe it's in the owners manual if I remember right.

But then I may be drunk. :D

i believe the original 2004 ram srt10 is 5150 weights with everything in it except for driver, but really it is depend on the years

This was the clincher for me, when I checked insurance on my truck before purchase I was shocked, less than my maxima.....done deal at that point.
