First off I was paying you a complement sorry you took it the wrong way (have another drink):dontknow:
second I was under the inpression that mike was wanting a color change (as you said nothing wrong with his paint)
and third you need to relax a bit you sound a bit STREESED :)
Forth, I do work production, The show cars I do are on my own time not the shop time:D

I love what I do and have the upmost respect for any body in the bussines MACCO or not.
Sorry if you took it wrong there bud:confused:

I apologize too, didn't mean to lash out but mike said he wanted his truck refinished, he needed no bodywork, just tear it apart, knock it down and lay some quality glassureth or sickens base and clear, sorry for snapping my theripist says I have made some progress but not quite there yet

Oh and I am not Macco, I think that is the sarcasim I'm supposed to be working on also:dontknow:

This place is awesome...men speaking to men as adults...and when there is mis-communication it is acknowledged and forgotten...

This is family or even better than a lot of families.

I am having a 93 Dakota repainted. It was straight with no body work. I did not ask for a show quality job just factory type. THe quote is $3500 and they have had it for about 6 weeks.

Mike, do you want a nice latex semi gloss?.Or how bout a nice solid stain?...I think Mikey has paint at the Home Depot..They have a special on Rustoleum this month too...lol Just make sure you get a nice smooth roller..15 minutes and yer done..

Ya Mike,

They quoted my little Z car at 10-12k and would take 'em 3-6 months.....The best painters are really busy... One guy told me his paint jobs started at 15k and when I started to nervously laugh, he hung up on me....

Watcherass out there in custom paint city... It's a jungle.

Tim

Gotta remember, thats in Cali too. Everything is inflated in Cali. Might be cheaper to have it shipped to another state to get painted and shipped back.

Even better, take a trip to TJ. You can probably get it painted while you spend the day at a local bar. LOL. Seriously though, I would be willing to bet that you can get a great paintjob in Mexico at a real reasonable price, biggest reason being that they don't have to worry about environmental laws and such. You just need to find someone that you trust, which could be the real problem.

I paid $3000 for a show car paint job on greenie back in 1998. inside and out was painted. I took the car apart myself to save cash. an now, 8 years later it still looks brand new. the paint from the dealer was only a few years old at the time and was faded and peeling off already...

so yea, $5000-$10000 to paint the ram (right).
