Here in Germany we need separate brake light.
(not together with rear light and turn signal)

Therefor I can not use the standard brake light relay so that the light control can not find them.

It shows "LAMP OUT" in the instruments and the computer says "brake light left and right side disconnected".

Is it possible to disable the light control for the brake light or can be be reconnected without the relay?

This is hypothetically speaking only, and if I were in your position this is what I would try to do. If you have a copy of the factory brake light wiring diagram, I would try to duplicate the wiring from the factory from Dodge, with adding in the items necessary to make the brake lights operate seperately to meet the standards for Germany.

Thank you for your quick reply.

The wiring is completely Dodge except the lamps.
All lights are working perfectly.

The only problem is the warning (LAMP OUT) in the instruments, which is caused by the brake lamps according to the computer.

I would like to disable the brake light warning or connect the check control direct to the brake lights if this is possible.

The main problem is that I do not have wiring diagram for lights control and do not know how it works.

It seems that the control is completely inside the instruments housing.

Let me look into this a little further and see what information I can come up with.

Hello Eike,

Hier eine Info, die vielleicht weiterhilft.

Here is an info that might help a little bit.

Thank you.
I know this, but where is the lamp control in this diagram?

Maybe its easier if you just route a separate wire like we all do when wiring our trucks for the german TÃœV. You dont get a lamp out signal and its easy to do.
Sometimes the easy way is the best way....

How do you do that?
Could you send me a plan what has to be connected?

It seems that someone has done some changes at the brake lamp cables, but I do not know exactly what they did.

There are many white/green cables connected together and maybe they connected one too much.
Also several cables have been removed during the swap in the Z4.

Eike,

My truck is currently getting some mods, will check tomorrow for my harness colors and the routing of cables and will let you know.

Thank you very much. :top:
German is perfect for me, but I also avoid replying in German here.

In the RAM I have got, most white green cables are connected in the dashboard.
Now I will have to find which ones have to be cut and connected to resistors.

This is a good solution and should not be too difficult.
