How do i go about pressurizing the oil system to start the engine after its been sittin for about 5 months no start?

ALSO

Anything i can put into the cylinders themselves-oil, wd40 some other lubricant???

Figure i would take the spark plugs out and spray wd40 or squirt 1cc or 2cc oil w a syringe. Put the plugs back in let it sit a bit then fire her up???

I know it will smoke for a bit. But i plan on using old plugs then put in the new ones.

THanks for you thoughts.

remove the fuel pump fuse so no fuel, remove plug wires plugs, I would use oil , and not WD, wd can wash the walls a bit

Use some Marvel Mystery Oil. I did like Stinker said on my 440. Removed the plugs and in line to fuel pump. Go to a .99 cent store get a oil can give it 2 or 3 squirts on each and your good to go.

LUBRIPLATE

Cylinders, bearings, Journals. Lubriplate is gods gift to engine building. I'd only use it in the cylinders if you were going to set the engine up. Maybe some marvel mystery oil around the rings if you have the heads off and let is leak past the rings, and rotate the engine.

Ahhh engine is still in the truck. Heads are on.

What about putting the oil down into the intake before putting the intake manifold on??????

Thanks for the help guys. Real worried about scratching the walls of the pistons.

I am not sure where the concern is!! I usually shut off my truck beginning of November and it will sit until late march without running. Late march i check all the fluids and fire it up ! I let it idle for a few minuites to warm up and then take her for a ride!!!

BUT

Thats with a complete engine inside a garage. Mine has had the valve covers and intake plenum off the whole time. Yeah its been taped and quasi sealed but just not the same. Easier for moisture to get inside is what i am sorta worried about. With the pistons and their first ring being soo close to the top of the piston i figure it wont take much friction to snap a ring.

WHICH

I would be Royally FUBAR'd then.

I came up with a engine primer for diesels that I build at work. Take a empty 30 lbs A/C refridgerant container, put a nipple for a hose end on one of the fittings on the A/C container. Then a hose with the proper fitting on the end to thread into your engine on the other fitting on the container. Fill the container with the proper amount of oil, attach your hose to the engine, connect a air line to the fitting installed earlier and open the valves on the container. The air pressure on top of the oil pushes it up the tube in the container right into the engine. Works beautifully and on all different kinds of engines and transmissions that I need to prime at work.

Ok so its sortah like what they call a prelube or preoiler then??

So i take it i would drain all the oil out of the truck? Where in the hell do i attach the hose going into the engine with oil at so it gets to the whole engine?

I dont think this will solve the piston ring oil problem though?

Not a mechanic so i may be missing something?????

Talked to Dan at Exotic Engice Developement today.

Basically do what stink said.

Take some Mistery Oil and put a lil in through each spark plug. Let it do its thing for a day or two. Leave spark plugs out, defuse the injectors/fuel pump and turn over a couple times.

Get rid of old fuel. Add some good fuel cleaner, new tank of fuel then let er rip. Idle for a good bit.

So good to hear. Says it everything should be good.

Just a heads up to say thanks.

For sure a preluber, I use it on fresh engines. Your right it wont so anything for the rings.
