Hurricane Irene

23 people killed and billions of dollars in damage, did you screw your brain up in the sandbox ???

thats a normal thunderstorm coming off gulf ,,i would bet those killed were the ones that did not listen to all that warnings ,,,still hate to see anyone killed in a storm though ,,here no one builds right next to rivers and streams with out house being on stilts ,,flash flooding is a way of life here ,,,you just have to be ready

I'm so sick of the media and their bullsh*t hype:mad: It was just a big thunderstorm!

I live by ocean city, can tell you it was not a thunderstorm, cause didnt hear any thunder.

heard transformers blowing up, people basements flooded, mine along with that.

and almost 2 days no power. trees have been falling on powerlines & houses around here.

Would not say a thunderstorm.

lady nextdoor had her gutter ripped off her home, flying into other peoples houses, my front yard looks like a tree falling site. and still no power.

Glad you were hear to confirm it was only a thunder storm :top:

I'd consider moving if Irene was considered a normal thunderstorm...And it's unfortunate folks perished. Some were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Especially those that died by falling debris and auto accidents. Now there were several "who were asking for trouble"...those surfing or windsurfing, camping (this person was in East Hanover, PA) in a tent when a tree fell.

Were they thunderstorms or hurricanes? Folks wanting to live in FL (or anywhere) is their choice. I'm not telling them to leave. I am just stating that if I lived in an area that had "normal thunderstorms" as large and powerful as Irene, I personally would consider moving. Besides, I wouldn't be able to afford the property insurance...

You want to stay here-- sure, come on up. Do you get motion sickness? We have earthquakes here too.

Really not that big of a deal:eek: nothing compared to the "severe" hurricanes that people farther south along the coast and on the gulf are used to. The media hyped it WAY up before the storm hit, and they're following through with it now simply because it hit so far north.

According to the doctors, yes I did screw my brain up:dontknow::D
