I got a leak of some sort

I pulled my truck out from my garage from being stored all winter and i noticed a wet spot on the ground. it is a red fluid just not sure where or what. I took these pictures hopeing someone may beable to help me out here. I'm pretty sure its coming down from above this plate. Looks like in the 3rd picture it may be out of there somewhere?! I wish i was more mechanically inclind.

Red fluid and wet tranny = leaking transmission fluid. My guess is its leaking out of that sensor in the last picture.
 
Yeah I second that one had the same issue recently when I got back from deployment...
 
Time for a new gasket and seal for that sensor. Go ahead and have the bands adjusted while in there and a valve body and shift kit wouldn't hurt while there as well.:burnout:

I only have $1000 to go to pay it off, so i'd rather do that 1st.
 
I can tell you from the pics you need both o ring in the sensor and new pan gasket for the tranny as it was likely tightned down too much on the corner and is currently leaking there judging by the wet bolt and corner of the pan.:D
The pan gasket and Oring and tranny filter and new fluid should be no more than about $60
 
I agree with VENOMOUS1 and also buy a new trans filter while your at it. Only a few bucks and such a messy job might as well do it all at once lol
 
I'll post some pics of mine in a few but I have a deeper pan with drain plug... And yes mine was from removing the valve body a **** load of times when doing my shift kit the first time after the deaeler messed with it and ended up placing the ball bearings in the wrong places inside it...so 10 or so removals gave it a work... But while your ini there go with the transgo shift kit, new filter, gasket and maybe a gm solenoid conversion while it's out... Everything all together shouldn't be but around 250-300 and makes it feel like a Beast shifting... Pretty easy to do yourself...I think I did a how t on here but can't remember.
 
If you want to know for sure clean the outside really good then take it for a drive and take a looks to see exactly where it's coming from...before you dig into it

I likely won't be doing any of this, let my mechanic do it then i know its done right. Sounds like a pretty cheap fix for someone that knows what their doing.

I just pulled it outa my garage so i could hear it run and put a few decals on it. Its back in my garage with the battery out and all covered up again :mad:
