If you got some time and want to read some BS then check out the thread below. First a little background. Up till just a little bit ago no one knew I was a pilot. Which added to the issues. But I don't think it should have mattered. Anyway someone posted a link to a video about the "Million dollar job" That job was an NFO. For those of you that don't know what a NFO is then I will tell you. NFO=Naval Flight Officer. They are the guys that ride in the back. They are not pilots. Anyways I called BS on the video. My argument was if someone had a million dollars and was going to pick a job between a pilot and NFO then they would pick pilot. What kid wanted to grow up and be goose? My point was completely missed in the thread. But my week long banned only turned into a few hours. Anyway some good reading. BTW I ask that you don't post on my behalf.

I would rather be a pilot then a nfo what do you fly

In the fleet I flew H-3's (VH, UH, UH-ET). Some of our VH's were old Marine One's. One of our primary missions was Executive Transport. Now I am an instructor teaching Advanced Helicopter Training. But my point to all those guys was not that their job isn't cool or invaluable. It is the fact that I think most apply for pilot first and then NFO. Unless they are not qualified (Eye sight, etc). I have seen lots of NFO students try to become pilots. And I have even seen several NFO become pilots. Never seen or heard of a Pilot wanting to become an NFO. Maybe my post was harsh. But come on. How many kids growing up wanted to be goose?

Yeah, you weren't lying about the time and BS part. That shit drug on forever about some senseless whining.

I liked the part where even via the anonymity of the internet that some guys rank came up and was used a basis for his ability to effectively contribute to the "conversation". Also that your lack of posts meant that you had to respect the elders......some drunk who flew A4's in the 'nam?

Food for thought.....anyone ever met a guy in a bar that was a cook in Viet Nam? Seems that was the job with the highest casulty rate, because all you ever meet or hear about are fighter aces, snipers, rangers or special forces guys.

Let's all give a moment of silence for poor Cookie, who left this world too soon in a horrible kitchen grease fire in '68.

----Please take this only as a joke. I mean no disrespect for those true Patriots who have defended our country and those who have paid the ultimate price for the freedoms we have today. My deepest respect goes out to all who have served in harms way.

:D ;) <---these indicate this was just a joke
