I've had this truck since May and I've enjoyed every minute of owning it. Having said that, ownership of this truck has also brought me more grief and irritation than I could have ever imagined.

It's cool to hear "hey, nice truck" once in a while, but this truck is also attracting a lot of unwanted attention...daily. I'm getting more than a little sick of people coming up to me at the gas station or winding down their windows in traffic so that they can talk shit. I mean, wtf? All I gotta do is drive this thing 2 miles and I've got some hick in a mustang or something making the "must be nice" or "rich asshole" comments, which are completely unprovoked, except for the fact that I'm driving in a Viper truck.

Since I bought the truck, the rumor now in my neighborhood is that I sell drugs. Never mind the sealcoating equipment in the driveway. That's just a front...."he's a drug dealer". That's the price you pay for having something nice in Western Pennsylvania I guess.

Last year I expanded my business to South Carolina, and I will be living there in the winter from now on. I just rent a condo for the winter months. I think I'll take the Viper truck with me and just store it there all Spring, Summer and Fall. For all the shit and rotten comments from these hicks up here that I have to deal with, it's not worth driving around here. It's too nice of a vehicle to be seen on shitty Western PA roads anyway.

At least I'll keep the miles down! Sorry, had to vent.

Lots of people are haters, unfortunately that comes with the ownership of such high performance and limited production vehicles. Best thing to do is let it slide of your back and enjoy the ride that our truck provides

You can say that again. In a shitty place like PA, I think the number of haters are ten fold. Most people here wait for a disability check and hate people who do well in life.

No wonder I've never been to western PA............ Sounds like alot more than you bargained for....

Oh, and let me know when you have your "moving sale".... I need some more skunkweed and Pakistani hashish..........

Great acid, BTW...............!!!!!;) :p  :D :dontknow:  :burnout:

D

I think it's funny when I get those looks or comments. (Which around here only happens in my neighborhood!)

You will always run into people that are jealous. Let it slide, you know the truth, and that's all that matters.

You could potentially have fun with this! Get friendly with the local cops and have them visit with the lights on!! Hehehehhe!!!! That'll get the neighbors talking!!!!

Western Pa. Don't most of the folks drive horse drawn buggies and live in houses that don't have electricity or phones? No wonder they don't understand. All they have for entertainment is snooping on the neighbors.:D :D :D

I feel bad for you guys who are treated like that. here in southern california, if you're not driving a 100,000 dollar car you're just a piece of shit. so I'll just be happy being a piece of shit in a viper truck

Now I get it..... You are refferring to a Romany..... a gipsy..(that's how they spelled it back then...)

Thanks for the compliment. I took my name after this man..... My guitar idol.

Django Reinhardt.... I love this picture because it shows how scarred and burned his left hand was....

Vive Le Manouche

Just got back from a run to Seattle from San Diego.

Once I got out of SoCal all I had was comments of "nice truck"

There was a kid at the Pilot station in Castaic that came up and offered me $5.00 to do a burnout. I could not take his money, so he got a freebie!

In the Fuel pits at Pacific Trail Raceway in Seattle the truck got a bunch of attention, and it was all good............:D

I love these trucks, 2600 miles averaged 72 MPH when driving and got 15.5 MPG. That was with the AC on all the time.

Cool. Gypsies aren't known for musical talents in these parts. They're mostly known for paving driveways and driving L's and Viper trucks, lol.

I get the same thing down in Arizona... Whether it be the occasional ricer or cowboy mustang driver talking smack. In addition, I'm very young to have this truck - I look even younger. So I always get the guy saying, "Rich punk," or "Must be a daddy's boy" comments. They have no idea that my parents havent put a dime on this truck, nor do they intend to do so. They also don't know the amount of hours I put in as a full-time employee and full-time student. Everyone on this site has worked their asses off to get the vehicle (or vehicles :D ) that they want. Those haters have the same ability to do so. Some have worked much harder and longer than others to get this truck. Eitherway, you seem like a hardworking guy, and you deserve to drive it whenever you damn well please. I feel like that it's an honor to have such an awesome truck sitting in my driveway, and that's what keeps me from letting those comments sink in. I get jazzed up everytime I sit in that driver's seat. I don't think you should just drive your car in the winter in another state because some jackasses want to make jealous comments. Drive that beast, and be proud of it. You earned it.

...and yes...what Stinker said...tell them you're the mafia lol
