I had a visitor

I was expecting a guy to come inspect my housing, as we are moving to another base. So i was at home, watching tv, with the door open. I hear my dogs (115 lb rot/lab mix growling at the door. They are friendly so im wondering wtf. I get up and look, and they are nose on the screen door with hair standing up. On the other side of the screen door, there is another nose touching it. A black bear, 3 times as big as they are.... 350lb? Walked up tapped on the glass, he looked up at me, turned his head sideways like a curious dog, stared a minute, then turned and slowly walked away. Before i thought to get a picture he was 100 ft away. I managed to get a picture of his ass.

Yeah on eglin afb. Fenced in perimeter.

Haha, that's cool. I have a place near you in Santa Rosa Beach. We see bears occasionally in the wood line off Hwy 98. Kind of un-nerving to have one come to your front door though, lol.
