I am thinking of shaving the doors on my rc, but I also want to go with suicide doors. I know these trucks will hold a better resale in it's original state, but Im kind of thinking of a SRT10 rc, lowered, with suicide doors and shaved would look pretty sweet. Has anyone here done this? If so can I see some pics? Please give your opinion good,or bad I can handle the beat down lol. Just wondering if it's worth it to be that different. Thanks, Matt

Let me find a thread. A couple people have done it.

with only 9000 made I am kinda a purist, dont screw with the outside or anything you cannot reverse, but at the same time everyone has a different view of what they want.
would it look good? I do think so

would I do it? hell no:D

Also agree with Tony. When I did things with my truck, I made sure it could be put back to 100% stock. No screws through panels or the truck when mods or the stereo was done.
I also keep all my stock parts. Rims, Hood, Airbox, tail lights, headlights.... everything.

This is what I'm having a hard time with. I think it would be cool and different with the suicide shaved doors, but at the same time these are pretty sweet trucks the way they are. I have thought about getting a second set of doors and keeping the factory ones the way they are. The only problem there is if I go suicide, I don't think you could go back factory hinge style without trashing the door mamba pretty bad. With the lambo like the yellow truck has it might be possible. Reversing the whole hinge and clasp assemblies, I just don't know. I just think the rat rod look would be sweet on the SRT (rat rod with paint that is!) just so many mixed emotions in the head right now.

these trucks are hard enough to try and resell ,,,major body mods will almost make it impossible to sell once you do it ,,,imho

I'm thinking maybe get a lightining to do this too. Keep the SRT the way she is lol. The suicide deal is my only hang up right now, it's the only thing non reversible. As for the shave part, I will get a set of doors and a tailgate from the junk yard so I can keep the factory doors away from molestation. Every time I go for a ride it reminds me to call you to order the go fast parts lol. Arrrrrggggg! The frustration of having loose screws in the head lol.

fasnuff i usually say things that most people dont like, but its my opinion

Mike brought his VCA to me with intentions of totally redoing the interior, dash the whole nine yards, , and thats money in my pocket, but I talked him out of it, why? because to me , and this is the part most may not like, but to me , once something like that is done, it makes the SRT10 nothing more than a Hemi with a big engine, takes away the specialness of the truck,
but remember, thats my opinion, which usually sux:D but I still like the mods you speak of, but ironskittles is right, those looking for an srt , when yours becomes available for sale , your buyers are gonna be of the younger group, that group also ..........dont usually have the money to invest liek they should in the mods you have done

Why is the resell on these trucks so poor? I figured with the low build numbers they would hold a decent value, but I see the posts of trucks for sale or the ones found for sale with pretty low cost on them. I know with fuel prices on the rise that would be part of it, but it seems someone in the market for a performance machine the fuel budget would not be an issue. I bought a used SRT8 challenger 08, I paid 32k, my wife traded it in on her suv 6 months later and they gave her 38k on trade. I just assumed the SRT would hold a tight value. Yes I know what happens when ASSuME lol.

it really pisses me off to see folks sell there srt's cheap, to me they are a legend, and should be held that way, only 9000 built and who knows how many have been totaled, how many are across the pond, so not very many here in the US, but it comes down to the seller, I made the comment to Viper this weekend when he was here, my truck sitting there, without an engine , or tranny, I still would not take 40k for it, to me, its jsut worth much more than that, its not a hemi, its an american legend, more should understand that .........

Don't get me wrong, I asked for opinions good and bad. That's what I need to weigh the pros and cons. I appreciate every thing I get, and I agree with every one on leaving her as she sits, but some little voice in my head says DO IT! So maybe something I read here will shut that voice up, or maybe it will be some thing I read that puts that voice in to action. Please speak your mind, you will not hurt my feelings one bit, I promise.:)

LOL bruddha, if its in your heart and its what YOU want , by all means do it!

everyone does all sorts of different mods, cyalata an rocketman did lambo doors, would I ? no, do they look good ? to me yeah they do, but its not what "I" would do, make sense?

so if you want your truck barny purple with pics of walbert on the hood, go for it man:D

jsut be prepared , some will like, some will dislike, but its what you like, is whats important;)

Hmmmm. Barney purple and walbert, damn more decisions! Lmao I know that was a joke, but the color (mineral grey) was one of the selling points for me, that is one thing that will never change on this truck, at least while I own her it won't. thanks for the input, by the way, how are you coming with the hard radiator tubes? I'm getting pretty close to getting a set. Are you going to have the lower as well as the upper? I bought a factory hose from you about a month ago, the one you shipped to Odessa TX, you'll probably remember where it went before you remember who you sent it to, being you probably don't send much stuff via pony express to the middle of no where lol.

LOL I remember buddy, I can actually do them now, but kinda holding alot of stuff back at the moment until after panama, I got four trucks that ......well have to be done by panama, so it dont give me too much free time, I got one being chromed now, will post up pics when I pick it up, and soon , probably after panama we are going to have tons of carbon stuff available too, its jsut got me on a tight schedule, its jsut me in the shop, and brandon comes in on the weekends, but when ya ready hollar, let me knwo, and will try to squeeze on out, but not really going to do lowers, tried a couple, and they just dont tend to seal that well, and had too many buds have probs with them leaking an blowing off, and you dont really see them all that well really, so going to focus more on the uppers:)

That's a great heads up on the lower hose, thanks. I'm in no great hurry, I will get with you when the transformation begins, you will be hearing from me a lot more then my wife will like. Still working on color schemes, I'm thinking a lime green pin stripe on the mineral grey would set it off. That will leave me stuck between lime green and carbon under the hood. I just want a solid plan with as much research as I can get before I change anything, once I get the ball rolling it will be a hard downward angle. I hate leaving things half done for more then a couple minutes lol. Wish I could get some time off to head to your get together, but being that I have been off for almost 2 weeks passing kidney stones like a pea dispenser and still have a job I probably shouldn't push it to much more lol.

LOL I hear ya buddy, green and grey , that would be a killer combo:rock:

Will you have assorted colors in the rubber attachment sleeves or will that be a specific color. Like a carbon radiator tube with lime green boots maybe? That would be pretty sweet, best of both worlds haha!
