Aloha from Maui..

Drained the oil and small particles....cylinder #6 low compression..leak down test tomorrow....so

1. Best place to buy a stock rebuild kit for the bottom end.
2. How much different from rebuilding a chevy V-8?
3. Any step by step manual available (Tilton)?

more expensive to put it back stock oliver rods diamond pistons and yes there is a lot of lil tricks in puttin a viper engine together call todd at arrow racin that would be your best bet!!!!

It would be hard to argue with Oliver rods and Diamond pistons...

Depending on your time frame...an alternative to Arrow would be DC Performance in California (both are wonderful sources).

Another source for building the engine is John Edwards, he has built several of our engines here and is currently doing Dale's build at "no cost" to help our ailing brother. (JZB Engines, phone: 248 420-1564) John works closely with Arrow Racing.

I don't think this is a build that should be given to someone who has not done it before...shipping the engine to and from California should be pretty easy and not too expensive.

I would also recommend using Gen IV main bearings, hardened push rods and going with oversized sleeves if your budget will bear the cost.

If you are going to order the parts, Roe Racing, JMB, and Stinker would be excellent and reliable sources.

arrow does all warranty work for vipers for along time!!! no single place has built more viper motors than arrow that i guarantee

But Arrow changed hands last year...it actually shut down and opened under new ownership!
