It's not if they cry sometimes, it's if they keep going and don't stop. If my son ever did that I took him outside so he could cry without disturbing other people. Kids will cry, but I never let him be a disturbance to others.

Bill.

I'm with you Billy.

While I agree what he did was wrong, I also have to say that a good parent doesn't allow their child to be disruptive in public.

Kids can get on your nerves quite easily. It is the parents responsibility to address this, not a stranger.

Wonder if the kid stopped crying or was worse after being slapped...

Someone smacks my kid, they lose their hand, if not their life.

I don't typically agree with a child being allowed to remain disruptive enough to get on the nerves of others. I wouldn’t allow it simply because I’m considerate of others and I understand as a parent that boundaries need to be set from an early age. (Please bear with me because I’m gonna go all over the place with this ranting). But toddlers will be toddlers. They cry. That’s like throwing something angrily at a neighbor’s dog for barking. That’s just what they do. They bark. Obviously this child isn’t a dog, it’s a human being. But this man seems like he has very low tolerance for whatever reason.

We don't know why this particular toddler was crying. Perhaps the child wasn't feeling well and the mother was trying to find something in the medicine ailse to ease her baby's suffering. That's probably where the man encountered them while he was filling is prescription or trying to find Geritol or even some Efferdent. I don't know if this is true because we don't know specifically which aisle the mother and baby were in. It certainly wasn't the women's clothing aisle or unmentionables aisle. That old geezer wouldn't have been there. I doubt it was the automotive aisle.. (yall see where I'm going with this). But just maybe they passed the toy aisle and the baby went berserk.

I’m probably just running in place trying to decipher what part of Wal-mart there were located in. Some would say she should have been in the condom aisle last year. But I digress.

That man had no right striking someone else's baby for WHATEVER reason. It's a f*ckin BAY-bee. I couldn't bring myself to hit my own daughter let alone allow some absolute stranger hit her. The police would have been arresting me right along with that old fart. Which essentially would have probably afforded me an opportunity to pounce on his ass in the back of the police car.

I know that back in the day it was perfectly accepted for a stranger to hit a child not of their own for misbehaving. Some of you dinosaurs here experienced that probably on both sides of the fence. However, these days that shit don’t fly. It could very well be that ideologies are changing or being overwhelmed by new ones. In a sense, the old world is clashing with the new. Or, this could be a prime example of how we are losing our tolerance more and more each and every day. People can’t seem to tolerate other peoples’ opinions, religions, views, speech, or way of thinking anymore. And now a crying baby cannot be tolerated. We have to be always on our guard and be politically correct or someone is offended. What’s becoming of us?

This man did what I feel like doing in that situation,, I can not stand kids having a temper tantrum, they just scream and scream and scream and the parent just ignores them man oh man I would love to ring that parents neck and give the kid a spanking lol.. But of course anyone in there right mind would never do it . I think im in my right mind so i should be ok LOL..

YIKES talk about rage, u should never hit a child, but thats the society we live in, the other day this guy had his child on a leash walking the child around in walmart, i wanted to slap the crap out of him, and then put him on the leash and walk him around see if he likes it, kids are too young to understand, so we have to treat them with care

ive seen it many times kids crying and the parents ignoring it. i get ill with the parents. deal with the situation most of the time its the kids throwing a tantrum. but i would never touch another person, especially a strangers child because i know what i would do if anyone ever touched mine. even my boy thats a marine. let someone mess with him. not saying im a badass but still. old fart had no business doing that. just head to another part of the store and go back that way later after the mother and crying child have moved on. if i was her father he would have a beat down coming when he got out of jail. apology or not.

Touching my daughter is wrong for any one other than me and her mom. But at the same time I understand that if my daughter is having a tantrum that I can not feed it by responding to her. The tantrum must be ignored. If it is disruptive, then I will have to take her to the car and have it in peace. But again, I can not allow the tantrum to get the child what it wants ie attention or item.

Someone ever laid a hand on my son I'd twist off their head and shit down their neck....Then I'd drag the Prick out by his hair and stomp his brains out at the entrance....and eat his liver
