Nah, that's okay. I aint puttin' no igloo cooler in the back. I'll figure out a way to insulate it. Maybe I'll try that stick on stuff that I posted a link to.

Jorge, the ice box is mounted. I need a way to unsulate it. How would this stuff work? http://www.thermotec.com/products/13500-adhesive-backed-heat-barrier.html
that is the stuff Steve, I can think of a ton of stuff, but thats the only thing I could think of that well , wouldnt look like ass to be truthful, and it works decent, but now, not much at all is really gonna keep things too cool in the summer down there ,too humid, your basically gonna only be able to use it at the track buddy

Thank you sir. Yeah, I only intended to use it for the track.

now one thing too santeen and you can try this, it may jsut last longer then ice

Ice will start to melt immediatly due to the water and all sorts of fancy chemical proccess words:p

but you can get those cold packs or the ones that you freeze to use to ship stuff, freeze them really well, nd try them, they "may" last a bit longer not sure, but you would have to use a good many of them, but they are reusable too;)

That's not a bad idea. You know, for a hillbilly, you're pretty smart. :aetsch: :D

Are you trying to insulate from the ambient heat of the day? If so, then the foam panels that are at home depot can help. I used them to line the inside of boxes and essentially made them into a cooler. You cut it to fit and assemble a shell to fit over the tank. During non race days, it could be removed. For asthetics, you could fiberglass over it then paint it.

Basicly anything that prevents ambient air from being in contact with the tank wall will aid in preventing thermal transfer via the tank. I suspect that the heat load from the aftercooler core is so high though that any other savings will be marginal.

Enjoy the ride,
Dale

Theres a little trick using dry ice in an ice box, don't add water! You need to add pure rubbing alcohol to it,it will stay cold for a long time and will not melt instantly!!

The Thermotec stuff in the link is what I used to protect the cladding from getting to hot with the side exhaust and to deflect the engine heat from my intercooler reservoir. It is not design to keep things cool but rather keep the heat out.
