Since day one my truck would get idle hang during really bad summer showers they eventually they would go away after I disconnected the battery from the PCM for about 15-20 mins. But last week after a really bad shower I got the idle hang back, but everything I did would not resolve the problem. After about a week trying to trace down the problem I figure I pull the IAT sensor and cleaned it with some brake clean. It fixed it a bit, but not completely the idle would still hang under hard acceleration and would still float around 1k under normal driving conditions. So this morning I went to the dealer and got a new TPS. Problem SOLVED.
Remember to disconnect the battery while you're removing the old TPS and reinstall after everything is installed again. I alway sprayed some WD-40 on the connectors to repell the water. I figured it wouldn't hurt to spray some extra water protection in there.
Total cost $27.00
