I ran into a similar deal on a Ferrari F355 that was on ebay, it was a 1999 model year Spyder, price was about $60,000... which seemed low for that car... so I got the VIN # and sent an email to the Ferrari Club of NA, and they replied that the "real" owner still owned the car, and was happy and not selling. I never bid on the car, but sent an email to the seller acting like I was interesting.
