If your deal is on this list kiss there ass goodbye

Just got the word,
I'M TOAST- the nearest Dodge dealership near me is aprox. 50 miles away.
My dealership and about four others are on the list:mad:
There will be a ton of out of work techs looking to fill those few positions that will be available.
What really gets me is that I Just went through this a couple of months ago at Charlie's Dodge. Its hard to be positive when you have all this wearing on you.(just venting)

My good dealer is OK but I had over 10 within a 10 mile radius.

They needed to this, but I feel bad for "most" of the employees.:(

EDIT: I just finished going though the list, looks like many were in smaller towns.
Thats going to hurt the towns, people and local economy more then the majority around me, that own multiple dealerships.

I lost only two local dealers one sold only Dodges the other Chrysler & Jeeps.
The Dodge dealer was the closest about a mile away, always stocked the hi-po stuff but would never make any good deals.
I pulled this from their web site, first 5 star dealer in Chicago...ironic?

Chrysler 'rejects' 789 dealers nationwide, works to pare network by 25% by June 9

Chrysler has just announced that it will 'reject' some 789 of its dealerships by June 9 as it works to downsize through Chapter 11 bankruptcy restructuring. That represents a 25% cut in its dealer networks, leaving 2,392 Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge dealers to carry on if the automaker is able to successfully emerge from bankruptcy with its new partner, Fiat.

Auburn Hills reiterated that it will be "business as usual" with its entire dealership body throughout its bankruptcy proceedings, with plans to honor warranty and incentive payments "during the period that rejected dealers remain active."

According to information obtained by Automotive News, individual dealers will learn whether they are rejected or accepted via UPS letters delivered this morning. At that point, dealer owners will have 23 business days for a 'court review' of their individual cases.

The same memo that disclosed the planned UPS letter disbursement also details that after the 789 dealers are rejected, that 80% of its remaining dealers will carry all three of the company's brands (that figure presently stands at 62%). According to that communiqué, Chrysler does not expect for many of those dealers to close just because their franchise contracts are being rejected – about 345 of those rejected operations are paired with other competing brands, and according to Chrysler executive vice president of sales, Steven Landry, fully 83 percent of the disenfranchised dealers currently sell more used vehicles than they do new ones.

Thanks to the protections afforded under bankruptcy, Chrysler will not be legally required to buy back any vehicles, parts, or tooling from rejected dealers, but the automaker says it will work to pair the disenfranchised with remaining dealers who may be willing to buy those assets.

Chrysler vows to contact the more than 3.5 million customers who have purchased cars and trucks through the rejected dealers to give them additional information on how to get their vehicles serviced.

My local dealer is on the list. Good group of guys but there work is ok. It looks like I am gonna have to travel out of town to have warranty work done now. I am glad the next closet did not get the ax. Then I would have to go 120 miles for service!

My dealer is on the list...hate this because they have bent over backwards to take care of me and their service dept is 2nd to none.....there are 2 other dealers within 20 miles of me that are not on the list...but they are on my list..bunch of lying crooks I wouldnt buy a match box car from either one........The local Ford dealer is great...may have to look at a Ford the next time we trade..........but I am keeping the 10..;)

 Mine made it. I wonder if this is just the first round of closures? There are only 2 within driving distance from me that got the axe, but they are smaller dealers. Were any of them 5 star dealers? This should create more sales for the larger dealers.
Now the Hundai/Kia and Suzuki dealers can move into the lost dealer stores.

My dealer is a 5 star.....but he is low volume..10-25 new vehicles per month..

To bad Chet Watts Family Motors in Victorville CA was not on the list. Worst service department and owner in the world IMHO.

Chuck Tator ison the list. That is not surprising since they dont sell any cars at all. 95% of their work is hot rod oriented. Exactly how the rejection of their franchise will affect this is unknown. I will have to give him a call.

I think now is a time where all of the dealers are going to cut the techs that dont have all the "qualifications", if anything it should do some good in the long run.

Looks like my nephew in Charlotte area will be losing his job. Sucks. He's a good guy.
