Interesting....You guys are giving me the bug....damnit.;) :p :D

 I know, I'll blame it you and Prof...she'll buy that, no?

FYI.... plan on addressing the "grip" aspect of getting these to hook:D
We are about 10mph short in the 1/4. I spun through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear.... but it sure is fun. Pirelli's are like rocks.

I like the way you're thinking, now all we got to do is get her buy in...LOL!!!

I'm too old to do any damage, just drool and cackle a lot...kinda like the old deaf and blind witch in Hansel and Gretel.

Our transmissions have a very short 2nd gear...listen to this vid

Would be in gear a "bit" longer....if I was not spinning.... really hard to see from a video.... but it was pretty much useless getting bite in first through third.... soon as you hit 2300 rpm....you get it all.:burnout:
The RPM's really get up there quick with the Fidanza flywheel... about half the weight of the stocker. Probably hurting me more than helping at this point...:dontknow:
18th will be tough.... my duty day....and Mom & Dad are in town.
Going to work on some swap time, and bringing Dad down .....that's the plan anyhow :D

Man that sucks. I would think you could kill now 12's atleats on stock rubber of you feather the throttle a little bit. I think I would be going nuts running that after getting a super put one, a stock SRT10 can do that.

Oh not try to start anything and great truck. I am just really floored, I figured I would see low 12's from some practice runs with these things.

I have had the same problem with my install. Feathering the throttle is a learned skill...all of our lives, on the golf course, in sex, and while at bat, our male testosterone makes us go for it! You are right, we will have to learn this trait...there is just too much power for the kind of traction set up these trucks have...(wonderful problem to have).

The real quandry...is moving from gear to gear...anything close to a hard hit in second or third causes fishtailing. On the other hand a slow move from one gear to the next costs huge amounts of time in a coasting mode...

If I stay in the throttle, and move slowly to 2nd or 3rd, the she still breaks loose as I engage the clutch...

We have a lot to learn about handling one of these twin screws....

I want to see a QC with one, it may be that the automatic may really hook up very well as gears change, or it may just go up in smoke too...but the "feathering of the throttle" will be much easier to accomplish with the automatic transmission.

Agreed....
Believe me I almost shit when I saw the slip..... first one was not in the 13's... had better times last season... Ran out of cooler weather last season trying to dip into the high 12's all motor.

Will fix that this season.... my first runs at the track.... I rolled in, ran to registration.... and pulles right into the burnout box...... 38 psi in the tires and all...
Hard to break old habits....mat it.... I will get it, and by the end of the night I was getting the feel for it. Only had 4 runs all night.... track had some issues.
Stock rubber has got to go though:burnout:

Maybe you have been down this road but have you or Prof asked Roe about possible traction control systems? Don't know if the Vec would be up to this but I know the Race Logic system is out their and is suppose to be good. While this is kind of a bandaid for the true problem of not enough grip it would alow you to get the most out of your tires and be safer at the same time.

Some one should look into it. Maybe a free Race Loigic for a product review......

I still think the learning curve is the first thing to overcome, this amount of power through the entire rpm range is not easy to control, at least for us old farts. Give use 10 or 12 runs, then we can start looking for crutches to use.

When I was at ROE.... I was tipped off as to "something" they are looking into to address the traction problem with the SC. NOT traction control...though not a bad idea.

For now though...I will be running her with a full tank (she was at 1/2) and 22 psi in the Pirelli's.
Making the correction of rolling into the throttle, launching at idle, no power shifting, and getting to the track early enough to let the girl cool before running. Go from there.

It still was fun watching that truck roast the tires down the track! You couldnt hear the pirellis because they dont make any noise, but trust me boys, the tires were smokin as far down the track as I could see. (at least 300ft)
I think the roe/sc is going to go through the heat soak issue +++ over the paxton though since there is no intercooler and just meth. That thing was hot as can be even after he sat and cooled off for quite a while.
But 12's should be still easy as pie with traction... the torque curve is much better than the paxtons, looks more like the "right now" torque curve that the twin turbos have.
Good to see ya there Ken! thanks for vid taping my benz running too!

Got the Benz vid on CD... unfortunatly it's at work.... my buddy is getting a better video camera....so the next time we GTG, and he can make it... we will be able to get the whole run in.... including your time.
I will get it up as soon as I can.
Track was the worst I have ever run there ...that's for sure.
You going on the 18th? True going to be there?

How did you achieve 17.2 mpg Ken?:dontknow:

Hell....just normal driving... bet it get's better than that. When I set the trip computer from ROE... we had 1 hour of non interstate driving. Stop go bs....

Should be interesting to see what she will get on all interstate.

Seems to me that I get +17 mpg now @ 80mph...instead of 65mph.

Been getting an average of 12.6 city, and 16.9 to 17.3 hwy prior to the SC.

The "right now" power may be part of the problem traction-wise? From a hard launch with the Paxton you at least have a chance of getting into it before the boost kicks in (around 3000-3500 rpm). With the Roe I dont think you have that as the power band starts lower down in the rpm range.
