my 2006 rc has less than 6000 miles on it after owning it for 2 years. it has never seen rain and always garaged. I HAVE NEVER HAD any problems until today. TODAY I SENT A ROD THROUGH THE OIL PAN. I HAVE less than 30 miles on the roe supercharger. what happened as it appears at this point is the meth stuck. I CAME OFF a exit ramp in 3rd gear ran it up to about115 or 120 and let off. the truck started missing so i turned around and came home .I opened the hood and meth was running out of the air filter. I pulled the filter and the intake area was flooded. i dried it out and called shawn roe and discussed the problem but didnt come up with an answer. i let the truck sit for about 2 hours and drove it back down thr road, i didnt get 4 blocks when a rod came through the oil pan. NOW THE UNDERSIDE OF MY TRUCK IS A F***ING MESS. I pulled the plugs out when the wrecker dropped it off and 2 cylinders had a lot of meth in them the others had some. Being a mechanic for 30 years i would have to assume the pistons could not compress the liquid so there goes the rod. I DID NOT CALL ROE BACK THIS EVENING BECAUSE I WAS TOO PISSED OFF BUT FIRST THING IN THE MORNING I AM and see if they are the company i hope they are.

Damn dude, I am sick for you . . .

Who did the install for you? Was the Meth light on?

Wow, ..... that will ruin anybodies day, week, month, ..... Maybe Roe will be able to tell you what went wrong. Please keep us posted on this.

Sorry to hear this....terrible..:( ..my meth stuck once...the problem was one of the 2 connectors on the VEC box was loose...fortunely no damage was caused other than red dye (from the meth mix) all over the engine......let us know how this is resolved......and while you are in the engine you might as well forge everything...

i did the install myself. i have been a mechanic for 30 years, mainly because i dont like other people working on my truck. dodge had a recall on the front wheel bearings on my truck . i bought them and installed them just to keep from leaving my truck over there.

Whether the meth light was on or off isnt really the main issue. The light just tells you if its activated/activating. If your meth bottle is empty or low enough that the pickup tube isnt sucking it in, the light will still be on but unknowingly to you bad things are about to happen. Do you know if your bottle was full or not?

I too am sorry about the motor problem, I am one of the few that have been down that road before (and still paying off the replacement motor and its install).

Its very difficult to watch for the little green light which is about 1/8 inch or smaller in diameter when you are paying attention to the road...especially if you are doing 115+ mph.

Pirate you might check the connectors on your VEC....I am interested in knowing if the loose connectors caused your meth to stick as mine did. If there is another reason or you cant find it I may just disconnect my meth.

You might as well forge everything...if you got the money to do it :(

By the sound of it, it seems that something probably grounded out at the VEC box activating the meth. The power supply for the Meth pump comes from the VEC. Either there is a wiring issue or a short inside the VEC. Either way its terrible news and I'm sorry you're going through this. Keep us posted as they are a lot of us with the same set up.

my bottle was full. the problem was it was constantly spraying

So, if it was constantly spraying what rpm does it activate, not activate? I thought that its benefit (meth) was you could run more aggressive timing and the meth would compensate. In this case, would you be running too rich vs lean which is what we all worry about?

Perhaps this is a first that meth was constantly running vs not running. Interesting :dontknow:

I believe the meth pump is activated by the VEC based on manifold pressure at rpm.

Mine kicks in about 3K RPM and only if boosting....when my meth stuck my truck was missing as pirate mentioned...luckly no damage occured....I went over all the wiring and the last thing I looked at was the 2 connectors plugged into VEC...top one was not clipped in....pushed it in and reconnected the meth pump...

I am going to disable my meth and delete the meth program until Pirate finds out what went wrong............that thing pumps like a fire hose...

yeah , that pump is strong, i also made sure there were no leaks at the nozzle. one other thing i had called shawn about the other day was my boost pressure. roe says this system is safe on stock internals at 5.5 lbs. mine reads 7.5 on the meth card which concerned me, but shawn said that was normal on meth.

FYI. The nozzle's maximum flow rate is 7 GPH. Now if the line that goes into the nozzle should come undone the flow rate would be controlled only by the pumps capacity and the diameter of the line. This could also be the culprit.
