I'm tring to justify getting a SRT QC truck. I hear gas mileage is around 10 mpg adv. is this true? My question is, how can I improve the gas mileage of the truck??? Anyone have any ideas??? Please Help me ! I really want to buy one but can't justify 10mpg.

Thanks !

Don't get a QC if you want gas mileage, a RC gets better. You don't get this truck for that feature, you get it for what it is!

dude if u are worried about gas go buy a prius :dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow:

Got to agree with Kevan. Don't buy one, as you will not be happy. Gas mileage is not a concern to most of us. Those that have had a concern, usually sell them after a while.

Friend, if gas mileage is a concern, you may want to seriously reconsider. Not being an elitist, but this is a serious investment. If getting 8 or 9 mpg worries you check out the cost of one quart of Mobil 1 syn. That is what your truck will use. The other thing that happens is that you catch the modification disease and then the expense gets even higher. These are wonderful trucks. We love them dearly. But most of us are not concerned with maintenance costs...we are trying to make the household budget suffer the hit of the quarterly $3k mod.

But, maybe the best route right now is stick around here learn a lot and catch the fever! This is a super place to learn and have a great time.

Well put, my girl cusses me every month for buying the truck. Hell, I deserve it, I've worked my ass off the past few years! Anyways, as others have said, if MPG is a concern, this isn't the truck for you. You could buy the truck and and get a old ass Honda or something for A to B. Nothing about these truck are cheap, 'cept maybe the chicks it would get you. Gas is expensive, oil is expensive, mods are expensive. IF you can swing it, I definately say pull the trigger! No regrets here! This community here is amazing. Everyone is like long lost brothers and everyone is so eager to help a brother in need. This place rocks!

well for my RC, its gas mileage are great because i live close to work and school. for QC well i am not sure about it's gas mpg but if u are worrying about gas mileage then it is not for u and depend on your distance from and to

For most of us these trucks are not our daily drivers. I have other cars for milage if thats what I need. My srt 10 is only for fun. I only have 2400 miles on it anyway.

I spent 60k bucks on my truck and increased the gas mileage to 14mpg. Probably wasn't a good ROI.

I am like him. I get 14 - 15 mpg out of mine. Granted with 2 turbos, no cats, and very free flowing exhaust out custom headers, that help. I couldn't believe it but I have double checked the computer numbers every time I fill up and it is spot on.

What really sucks it that the Srt get better gas mileage than my HEMI....????:dontknow:

I have a QC and I wish I could get 10mpg. Hell, I'm lucky if i can average 9mpg for half a drive. My mpg runs in the 7.5mpg to 8.5mpg range. If you drive it like you would drive a prius maybe you could get 10mpg but then what is the point of buying this truck? If you are worried about gas mileage then you won't get to enjoy letting the 500hp loose. These trucks are for those of us with cash to burn!

These trucks are not known for Miles per gallons
BUT.....my QC GETS GREAT MINUTES PER GALLON and for that there is no price tag.....................I have had the truck for two years, average about
5,ooo miles per year. 454 gallons x 2.89 ( average in OH ) $ 1312.06 total dollars. I have more than that in graphics.

well my truck was my first car that i bought by myself which was pretty cool. i use it for transportion which i wish i have a piece of crap car for transportion. but i am planning to trade my 04 for 05 or 06 RC with low miles after i pay off my truck so i can keep either 05 or 06 for fun and get another car for transportion only
