In a bad accident tonight.

Glad you are ok also! Vehicles can be replaced, people can't. Most of us have been there done that. Don't think too much, just rest up and get back in the saddle when you get better.

Same thing happened to me last february. I wrecked a ford ranger 4X4 on ice. I went in the ditch 2 times within 200 feet. the last time the whole axle broke off and the wheel came off among other things, when I hit the bank of the ditch on the other side.
On a good note...The truck protected you and you walked away...Just think of what may of happened if you were in some kind of econo box car like my toyota yaris...

The main thing is you are going to be OK. The truck can be replaced.

Bill.

Mike, terrible news, but you seem to be in one piece and that is what is most important.

And as a professor, I must say, I'm glad it happened after the final! If you have more finals this week focus on them first...then get the other things in line.

You know my number, call if I can do anything...I give my last final tomorrow, so I will be able to help if needed. Maybe lunch to develop some strategies...

Roy

no worries roy, all the finals are complete thank god, only have one more and I can email it in if I choose to. Lunch might be nice if ya want on friday, was planning on taking a ride to the truck and snapping some shots of her and getting the rest of my stuff out of her. So if you like to grab lunch let me know, if you wanna come with to the truck your welcome to as well.

damn brother are you okay? I hope it is not hurt to bad, you got any pix?

im doing alright bro, just sore, maybe friday ill go get pics of her.

Update: made all the calls and its looking like a total loss from what I told my autobody guy. Thank god I was in that truck, I have a feeling if I was in a little car the engine would have been on my lap with the way she hit. Feeling sore but happy to be ok and with only the minor pains to my hand a and ankle, getting a rental today and ill be have to be back at work by tomarrow but im taking friday off. Even though this truck was nice, no more pickups again as a day driver.

Thanks guys I appreciate your prayers

As it has been said, glad you are ok. Trucks can be bought again. Imagine if you were in the 10? It would have been much worse without 4 wheel drive!! Any vehicle can be totaled on black ice. Gotta be careful in a pickup especially. All the weight up front and all the power in the rear! Anyway glad you survived in one piece. About the insurance and not totaling one before.......get out the lube cause the next 3 years are gonna hurt! (I totalled a truck less than a month after buying it new! Went from $45 a month to $383! For 3 years. You get over it though. I am just glad you are ok.

hope your doing ok and feeling better bro, you gave us quite a scare last night, and prolly a wake up call, keep us posted on your progress, and as allways prayers to you mike:) :santaclaus: :santaclaus:

Well I got home about 2 hours ago.......

Was leaving college class afterr my final at about 7pm. Made a right hand turn onto a 3 lane road. Right after the turn is a bridge over a highway. Thats were it all went wrong. I was in my 2006 4x4 reg cab 1500 and as i applied a little gas at a time to get going about the point I was between 35-40mph the back end let loose over the slick semi ice and over salted road. The tail spin sent me towards the concrete wall over the highway. I had very little time to react, turned the wheel as fast as I could to counter but it was to late the passenger side hit the barrier and pulled the whole passenger side into the wall. As I was getting her away from the wall the rear bumper caught and spun me left, head on to the center concrete barrier. As this happened my foot slipped half off the break and 1/2 on to the accelerater and I hit the center divider head on at at least 35-40 mph. I bounced off into the middle lanes and the truck ceased, both air bags went off, Front end pushed in at least 2 feet onto the engine, bumper gone, passenger side damaged the whole way down. Went deaf for about 30-50 seconds, couldnt remember what happened for about 30 seconds after the hit couldnt even hear anything right after impact like a bomb went off. I think I was definatly in shock, smashed my hand, and ankle real good and am getting aches all over developing from impact. I was lucky:( Truck looks like it might be totaled, will try and get pics up soon, just more bad luck my way. Waiting till the morning to see if I need to go to the emergency room to be looked at more, the paramedics checked all my vitals and said I was ok, and id be sore tomarrow. No ticket because the officer, I think felt bad for me, I tried so hard to save her and the other traffic that stopped probably told him that. I missed all traffic praise god, im ok just really sore and upset. Have to call the insurance tomarrow, and see what happens now. Never totaled a vehicle before ever and cant believe how the ram became so uncontrolable, was so fast and terrible.

Please be careful out there guys, this weather here has been awful. With this happening so close to christmas I nearly broke down thinking about how much worse this could have been. I am thinking the srt will have to go if they total my truck because im actually a little afraid now after trying to handle this truck in this incident. This is the first time I can actually say I had no control and no chance:(.

All I can say is kiss and hug the ones close to you because you never know.

mike

hope your ok bo, I know you'll be definitly sore:eek:

but yep , I see it all the time, last night alot, came accross the alegheny mountains with an empty trailor, lotsa fun:argh:

but really everyone does need to be careful , no matter how good a driver you are, it only takes a second

Glad you are ok and nobody else was injured..thats the important part ;)

Been there, trucks can be replaced, people cant...trust me :D

everytime I log on you guys bring a smile to my face, thanks for all the prayers and support I really appreciate it all in this time of mine.
