I sure do miss the old days of this race......Unsers, Andrettis, Foyt, Rutherford, and on and on. But for some reason today I find myself really looking forward to it. Hope it's a good one.

Got bets going here with all my boys. Winner gets to pick dinner for the grill tomorrow night. I've got the 10, Dyson the 3, Mojo the 30, and Eli the 77. Don't matter, figure whoever wins will pick something tasty eheh.

No indy :( Rabbit Ears you know ^&#$&^^&

It's on 7, don't you guys get that up there?

And what is up with this "push to pass" thing? First I've heard of it, seems a bit "amateur" to me, like a video game or something. But it's been a pretty cool race so far.

Indianapolis — Honda calls it "push to pass," but that isn't a completely accurate nickname for the system.

First, a shot of 20 horsepower doesn't guarantee anything, and second, push to pass can be used for defense just as easily as offense.

But this much can't be disputed: The electronic tool will have a profound effect on strategy and maybe even the outcome Sunday in its first use in the Indianapolis 500.

"If you've got a situation like Sam and Marco in '06, it could definitely help," 2008 winner Dario Franchitti said, referring to the last-lap charge Sam Hornish made to beat Marco Andretti off the fourth turn in 2006.

"You've got to be as judicious with your uses of those things. You can't just go crazy with them."

Honda Performance Development, the sole engine supplier to the IZOD IndyCar Series, introduced push to pass at Kentucky Speedway last August. Complaints about boring races diminished quickly.

The system is built into the electronics of the engine and works by advancing the timing of the engine and raising its speed from 10,300 rpm to 10,500.

"Depending on where you are in the power range, it'll give you five to 20 horsepower," Jack Spurney, general manager for HPD, said Friday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. "It's not huge."

Good to hear that Mike Conway is ok. That was a nasty crash. Could have been real bad for him and for Ryan Hunter-Reay.

And I really don't need to hear from Danica. Doesn't somebody around there have something they could shove in her mouth to shut her up? heheheh

Plus I won my bet with the kids. Looks like ribs tomorrow.

ribeye steaks, grilled corn & something else tomorrow:rock:

Add some Barbequed Apples and you got it.

Before anyone asks:

Run Granny Smith apples through a corer/peeler

put on aluminum foil, completely fill center with butter and brown sugar

Close foil and put on edge of coals for about 20-25 minutes

Serve with french vanilla ice cream

My grandkids love them.

It's amazing the safety tech they have in these cars... he would have been DEAD about 5 years ago. Incredible.

That does sound good. Might have to add that to the menu tomorrow. Gonna do a pork shoulder along with the ribs, I'll be firing up the smoker pretty soon here to throw that in.
