Inexpensive exhaust mods

going to grab 2 cheapy bullet mufflers and take out the resonator

leaving the cats for now, i can take them out later and plug the o2 fake bungs in

Thats what I did, put in 2 bullet mufflers and cut out the resonator. I'll eventually get around to doing a complete exhaust overhaul headers/catback but everytime I get ready to do it something comes up. This is what mine sounds like at idle.

Like you I just wanted to be able to hear the exhaust. Im told its loud from the outside inside the cab it doesnt sound lab, these truck isolate sound very good believe it or not.

why did you choose the jones turbine in particular

i grabbed 2 thrush glasspacks - they are longer and thinner from the looks

i cant really see the resonator when i just glance down there but i do want the shop tok take it out

I'm running a Magnaflow catback system and I have the rear cats cut out and replaced with straight pipes.
Allows plenty of rumble and aggressive sound when you want it, but for normal driving you can still maintain a reasonable tone and have a conversation in the truck lol

i bought the cherry bomb extreme single chamber dual in dual out

paid 100 bux to install it and straight pipe the resonator


it sounds awesome and just like a real viper with a lope at idle

its loud on WOT and normal sounding during driving
