Is it me or is the factory Infinity 500 watt stereo the quietest stereo ever? I turn it up ALL THE WAY and can still have a quiet conversation with the person in the the front seat. I dont really ever use the navigation so I'm thinking it's time to get rid of the whole thing.:dontknow: The Non- Navigation infinity system in my wifes parents 04' Hemi gets way louder than ours...WTF?!!

your amps must not be working anymore,,,can you feel any thump thump from your sub when radio is turned up

My REC NAV radio (built by Alpine as I recall) and amp cranks well and it works well with the Infinity speakers and sub. I think the wattage rating the marketing guys sell specifies it as a total system. If your truck is still under warranty and depending on year, you may want to try having the FCM reflashed.

I'm not an audiophile but the Infinity Nav radio in my truck works nicely. Lots of thump from the sub (I packed it with insulation) and I rarely take the volume past half way. Gets way too loud for me.

But the Nav lied to me about a Quincy's steak house in Rockingham. So verify the info before you tell everyone to meet there.:dontknow::mad:

i don't have anything bad to say about my stock system...sounds great! maybe one or both of your amps is out:dontknow:

i have been tryin to get my new system just to last more than a couple of days. kept the factory radio but keeps screwin up the new alpine amp. blows channels 1&2 & the sub channel. have not been able to figure it out. any ideas ya'll???:dontknow::dontknow::dontknow::confused::confused::confused::argh::argh::argh:

The sub is working and sounds decent for a factory system, but the volume is just not there. I turn it up to 38 on the stereo and I can literally still hear the motor over the music, even witht the windows rolled up. Will the music still play with a dead amp?

LOL, I cant hear anything wiht mine turn up. You have a problem bro... there are 2 amps, the one behind the glove box is probly not working, i think this is a tsb for it....

I never considered mine to be a mind numbingly loud system.... But it was loud enough for me....

I never listen to anything that (truly) goes "thump, thump, thump" with the possible exception of the intro to "Straight On" by Heart. (sorry)

All in all, I'd say one of yer amp's toast... I told you guys... listening to that thumpy stuff is bad joo-joo all the way around.

I do like to turn it up fairly loud...For that reason I have noticed that our amps do "top out" before I cry uncle... But It's unfair to say that you can carry on a quiet conversation at full volume....

Example is that (with Lynette on board) having a normal conversation the volume is turned way down... She doesn't like it real loud in the car.... You have a malfunction in the power section, bro....

I had an old Chevy II Nova station wagon once.... 235, Straight 6 and 3 on the tree. It'd been spray can paintd a deep sea blue and had an aftermarket stereo in in that was so powerful.... mercy.... You get out of the car and you were actually dizzy from the volume..... We called it "The Shark"....

You could hear "Toussaint L'Overture" by Santana for miles coming out'a that car......

Good luck and happy listening..... on a (rare) live mobile remote direct from "The Shark".........on TADP-FM

Hmmm...

I actually turned the radio off this past Saturday when I took my test ride. It's an RB4, it worked, and on to more important things.

Picked it up today I had it turned up to 38 with some bass-y music and it wasn't the least bit loud...I'm starting to think one of my amps might be crapped out, anyone have a link for the TSB? TIA...
