INSTALLED NEW SHIFTER IN 06

Yall i put in x-metal IV short thro shifter , and can now hit 3rd gear very easy ,from 2nd the 3rd all u have to do is push up and BANGGG their she is. I ran her down the road and scratched 1,2,3,4 .and then a little dream came true, a smart a-- guy in a new gto , came up along next me and he snorted it at me a couple of times and so i thought sure !!!!!!!!!! i started shifted down got down to 2nd , // hint hint now we all know that a snake loves to bite goats// ha ha , bam we jumped he was next to me in 2nd but when i hit 3rd i pulled him 2trk lenghts and never looked back till 6th , at 152mph he was o 1/8th mile back, i said I WIN!!! then he finnaly came up and told me i was # one ha ha ha . so in other words i love my shifter.

Nice Kill! The new GTO's are putting down 400 hp and 400 ft. lbs. Torque.

They are a bit heavy at 3700. But not nearly as heavy as the 52-5700 we have to carry.

Just wait...once you put some miles on that shifter, she'll shift even easier!! Of ALL the mods I have done to the truck, the shifter is NUMBER1!!!! You could take them all away, but not my shifter!

I have a 06 gto and my 06 r/c viper cant hang with it at all after about 70.I can drive the piss put of my truck with just the volant I ran a 12.84. But maybe you ran the 04 gto with 350 hp big differnce. Do you have any pics of your shifter and what mods do you have? good kill

I would tend to believe this post...rest assured that the new GTO's are a real load...street light to street light it is close...but they are very quick...and don't be too sure you will always be able to handle them.

I haven't raced a new GTO but I have raced an 04 and I beat it pretty handily. :burnout:

Hopefully I can my truck to out run my car. My car runs 12.39 on street tires it is a automatic. It also has a tune, pulley, ,corsa ct back,k&n cai and a 160 stat. Its not exactly stock lol. I think i should be able to run 12.00 with some drag radials. But i do agree red light to red light it is a close race.
