Install X-metal catless mids and magnaflow catback. Any tips on the install. Looks like 6 bolts and some hangers. Anything I should be especially careful with? I also got 2 of the 02 sims...do they go in the upstream of downstream openings?:dontknow: Any help/Advice is much appreciated.

O2 sims go in the downstream. Also the bolts that connect the midpipes to the headers are a PITA try to get something on the header side to hold the clip in place while you remove the bolts or they will break and just spin. And if this is an 06' you will need to make new hangers for the magnaflow.

i can't help you as i didn't it yet but you can change your avatar to obtain some more attention ? :dontknow:

PS i love it....;) :D

When I had my exhaust work done, it was a B-I-T-C-H separating the muffler from the stock mids. The guy ended up having to cut the pipes.

And make sure the truck's 100% cool. In the past when I installed a Y-pipe on my TA, and broke every single manifold bolt. I ended up having to drill em out and use nuts on both ends. It was a PITA.

Other than that, I don't have advice to your specific application. . . :D

thanks Roz...and Belgium....send us some of that legendary Belgium beer:)

For the $100 bucks it should cost you to have a shop install it, why bother with DIY?

Takes less than an hour and you are out the door.

it was man.. i just had some Stella Artois on tap :D  you have any idea
how hard it is to find that crap around here in Northen VA! think i might ask
belgiumbarry to send me cases and cases of the stuff :D

but seriously, i see you have an 05 RC... just make sure you have a good four
hours(breaks included :D) to do the work.. and yes the tabs were a pain..
what i did was i twisted the bolt till i sheared the tabs off. then used a set
of pliers to hold them while i twisted them loose.. an afterthought was to
spray them down with PB blaster or WD-40 and let them soak for a bit..
think the job would have been easier :D  and the part where the magnaflow
attaches to the mid pipes is kinda tricky :) just make sure the pipes are loose
aka you didn't tightem and put the ends of the midpipes into the magnaflow
while it's off the hangers.. then put the magnaflow on the hangers and make
sure the pipes are in as far as they go.. then tighten the bolts on the headers
etc etc.. :D :star: :star:

Recently did mine with the help/advice of the board. I soaked all the slip fit joints in PB Blaster then with a rubber mallet nudged everything apart starting from the back. Those clips are a PITA. First one was no problem, so I think it will be a breeze. Hell everyone after that broke. Pair of vise grips on the tabs did the trick.

Clips? Tabs? All I saw are the six bolts to the stock manifold and some hangers.
