send it to justin and let him powder coat it...i believe he has a color that closely matches the stock color if you want to keep it stock.

Mutt,
How much do u think Justin will charge to pwdr coat the exhaust manifold? How long does he take? How difficult is it to remove? Time?

wire brush seems a bit "aggressive"...... have you tried that before ?

i was hoping for a chemical removal...... don't want to invest to much, i'm planning on a roe sc in the future........:D

saand blast it:D

if that dont work try a lil simple green and a fine steel wool, but be easy, looks like something peed all over your intake:D

it looks like the manifold is painted to me:dontknow: i wouldn't use a wire brush on it! maybe tape it off and spray paint just the top of it:idea:

it is coated from the factory, a very thick coating, if you are ballsy enough tape things off and get a color close and hit it, dotn try matching it tho:D

try muratic acid,it works on alunimun,be sure to cover everything but the intake, thats about all i can think of.

guess you guys don't like the wire brush idea huh.. i guess i'l just keep this
idea i had about washing the truck with comet to myself.. :D ;) :D

My intake manifold had a stain similar to that from the factory but not as big.
The dealer ended up replacing the intake manifold because they couldn't clean it either. The new one is perfect.

I have another theory.. I don't think Chase is being too forthcoming.. I believe he got his engine so clean with the truck detail that he actually ATE off of it.. I'd be embarrassed with burger grease stains on my intake too.... BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Seriously though I think JMB would be the way to go. As soon as I get brave enough to remove mine I will be trying to get 'er chromed..:D

that's an idea........ the dealer didn't give you any grief on this ??

No grief at all, I had them document it when I picked the truck up so that there was no doubt that I didn't stain it.
At first I wasn't going to change it because it was original. But everybody wants to see the motor and the first question was always "What happened there?"
So I had them finally change it out.

I even made them change the drivers side exhaust manifold because the steering linkage bolt had scratched it. No questions.

It got scratched because apparently the motor was not positioned on the mounts correctly. They loosened the mounts and moved the motor over as directed by DC.

My steering would tighten up under hard cornering, they couldn't find the problem at first, and then I noticed the scratch. That was the problem.

My dealer has been really good. Unfortunatly my warranty is now expired.
