Since owning this truck for the last year and half, it has consistently averaged 12.9mpg. However, I noticed a change when I modified my Volant intake. I took the ram air off, and removed the box around the air filter. So now, all I have is an exposed air filter. Since doing this, I am averaging 13.7mpg. I have made several other changes prior to changing the Volant; which are:
Add the Gen 2 Venom Hood - there was a shape change made to the center snout
Started using 0-30 Mobile 1 (designed for improved gas mileage) over 0-40
In addition, the weather around here has been much colder. But I have never noticed that affecting my gas mileage before.
Again, the above changes all occured prior to the Volant change, so I'm uncertain if they contributed to the improved gas mileage. It would be interesting to see if someone else with a Volant got the same results with the changes I mentioned.
