A Lesson in Acceleration:

This part is out of date. At least the 4.441 seconds is. Tony reset the record in the last race, in the last round to win the championship last year. I thought the speed record had been broken also, but I don't remember for sure.

yes he had to set a new et and mph record AND win the final round.....which he did.

If I remember right, the MPH does not win you any points.:dontknow: :confused:

Lemme look at my back issues of National Dragster, if memory serves me correctly that is what Tony nneded to do to knock Kallita out of the top spot.

I have that final race event on VHS also I can dig that out too.

I was pretty sure that MPH did not earn points, only the ET did.

NHRA POWERade CHAMPIONSHIP
Contestants in each of the Professional racing categories compete for the NHRA POWERade Championship title on the basis of total points won at NHRA national events.

NHRA NATIONAL EVENTS
Winner 100
Runner-up 80
Third-round loser 60
Second-round loser 40
First-round loser 20

Additional points are awarded at national events as follows:

10 points to all contestants - 1 qualifying run required.
20 points for establishing an official ET record.

Qualifying positions earn points as follows:

1st 8
2nd 7
3rd 6
4th 5
5th & 6th 4
7th & 8th 3
9th thru 12th 2
13th thru 16th 1
 
Yes you are correct, my mistake.

He went a 4.428 @ 327.98 mph with a .095RT....
