interior lights

i could of sworn that when i first got my truck and i would turn it off and pull the key out of the ignition the interior lights would go on not they do not....sometimes the headlights will stay on but i can not figure out what i am doing to be able to replicate it it seems random even though im sure its not....ne idea how i can get my interior lights to go on when the key is removed from the ignition?

Not sure on my truck on the interior lights, but if I turn the truck off with the headlights on, they will stay on for a bit.

i know i know kind of a dumb question but its really inconvenient at night when i try to gather my stuff before i go inside......did i mention its a lil cold where im am lol
