Today I went to UPS to send an international package. In essence, it was no bigger than a legal size padded envelope that had been folded in half.... Plus a small amount of packing tape.....

I've had it with the agregiously high 'mark up' of my local "Mailboxes your Ears" store. So these days I drive a few miles to the UPS depot and send all my shit from there....

After the normal "heys and how ya doins" we got down to business... It would take 3-4 days to send my package to Scandanavia..... At a cost of over $64.... What the #$%^&*(#$%&*$%^&%^&...!!!

The lady suggested the United States Post Office....

Sure as hell, I went to the Pissed Office and discovered that the cost of sending the same package to the same place (only difference was it would take 4-7 business days) was a mere $6.75..................

(scheiss....what a savings.....!!)

Who'da thunk it.......?

The United Snakes Post Office actually did something right for a change......

But UPS doesn't exactly have a stellar record of delivery in my book either....

The other night you mentioned the old Samsonit commercial..... That was shot in the sorting facilty at UPS...... Those troglodytes have delivered more busted up shit to my house in the last 10 years than I care to count.....

Those guys are fkn baboons..........no offense....

Five bucks sez the package gets there.........;) :D

Most packages I get from UPS have shoe prints on them. What does that tell you.

Bill.

we ship international and the only way to keep it afordable is teh us mail.

I have a major poblem with US Postal service employee's!! there are a few good ones. But the majority of them need a good lesson in manors!! Who made them God??

Don't they know we pay there salary??

They have the classic union attitude, no one can fire me, I am a Gov employee!!!

These people should be fired along with the Irs employees!!!!!

Let the private industry dictate who moves our mail!!! As for the IRS, fairtax.org my friends!!!

I can't stand people who say this. I am in the Navy and have heard this before. Do you know that I, as well as postal workers, also pay MY salary? Do you pay your own salary? I could see if we didn't pay taxes. But we do, just as much as you do.

Not that I would defend them guys after getting munched and crunched boxes for years from all of them ,but most of the time it's not the drivers it's the sorters . I have found USPS is a lot cheaper for international than anyone . Last year I sent a couple bottles of wine to Belgium .They did take longer to get there than promised but fully intact which is good being I have been told that is not an approved thing to do :D and we forgot to tell customs there was liquid in that glass ;)

Contraband Silent D.....contraband!!!!!! LOL

I use the post office 99% of the time for my mail order business. UPS is crazy expensive and we just had too many thefts. When the post office came out with the flat rate boxes!!!! Oh yeah, that saved me thousands of $ each year!!! International costs get more pricey over 4 lbs. if under 4 lbs you can send packages letter post instead of parcel post.

NO No NO Tim got contraband.....HeeeeHeee

Postal service sucks. The only trackable option they offer is EMS. The rest of their services are hit or miss. I had a mailorder business that sent out over 100 packages a day out of the country. We used fedex. They had a killer pak service. If something was under 3lbs, could fit in one of their premade boxes, it cost 20 bucks to ship and would be there in 48 hours. It was an awesome deal. The advantage they and ups offered was tracking, something usps can't do, unless you use ems. The only decent service usps offered was global priority mail. It's a little known service that offers some tracking, but not as detailed. It's pretty cheap to use and offers decent service.

I got a package back from italy last month. Realize I sold my company in June and haven't sent a package in 7 months. It was returned from customs, we sent it march of last year. This was a common thing with usps.

Each service has their issues. If you don't have a business account with a carrier, than usps might seem like a good option. While some of their packages MIGHT get there in 7 days via airmail, 90% of them won't.
