the police package comes with the option in the engines.... 3.5v6, 5.7 Hemi and 6.1 Hemi. the 6.1 is vary rare in the police package. sounds like he's full of crap though... my charger 5.7 had a shut off of 142.

My dealer cannot find anything to even order a 6.1 in the police package...you have numbers for that?

Speed rating

Most vehicles are limited to the speed rating on the tires that are available from the factory. It is a liability issue so the tires don't come apart going in excess of their ratings. Our trucks with high speed rated tires have shut downs above 150, Same with other sports cars. At least that is what I was told. :burnout:

LOL....yea, it must be....I have seen the 6.1 police package beat to death on the LX/SRT forums...never have seen any proof..did have one guy swear his friend that was a cop had a 6.1 police package car..he posted pictures of the engine to prove it....evidently he had never seen a 5.7 engine without the plactic cover. .....and not trying to say Robert is wrong..I would just like some proof to take to the SRT8 forums..:toilet:


...though let me say I have seen an SRT8 converted to a police car...A sheriff in a neighboring county drove a 300 SRT8 that had dash and grille blue lights...but it was just a std 300 SRT8 that had the police equipment added..
