Iridium Plugs

Anyone tried Iridium plugs in the SRT yet? Colder ones? NGK 6988s?

Paxton recomend NGK ZFR6F11 for their kit.

But those aren't Iridiums or colder.

These are all the same heat range:

If your running nitrous or boost then you don't want iridium or platinum. The tips hold too much heat.

Anyone have an opinion on what plug to run in a relatively stock engine??? What am I thinking asking people of they have an opinion on this site...:dontknow:

I can tell you , you can go to www.sparkplugs.com and punch in you vehicle and it will give different plugs available, and tell you I think how to go colder or hotter. but as far a preference I have no idea on vehicles bro.

Negative. 8 time stronger, 6 times harder, higher melting point and electrical resistence very low. They are exactly what I want to run with Force induction and nos. Been using them on anther truck for awhile now.

What I want, and what the post has been about all along, is the lower temp version. Which I have been researching 6944s from NGK. Sevaral fold colder than stock.

I have not heard on any forum, any negative posts/comments on Iridium plugs. Yes, they haven't been out for that long, but everyone has had good comments about them. Art of Henson Motors has sold thousands of them, with not a single complaint.

Where do you think I got the other 4 plug versions from ? And that site only gives the same temp region. Jon MacQuarrie of NGK has not had the request before from our trucks. That is why I am asking on this forum and others.

I'm currious about that too. Just how much of an improvement will these plugs give you over the stock ones? Maybe with a modded motor, but a stock one? Not sure of the gains for the price... But hey, if they do make a differnce, then I just might put some in the next plug change...

I got a small improvement with my hemi on gas mileage and 4HP/ 3Tq on my hyperpac for what it is worth. Just looking for colder plugs, longer lasting and stronger plugs.
I doubt there would be any huge gains. But heck, around 60 bucks for plugs, no big deal. BTW, ordering them thru Art and Henson motors. He's been helping me search. So I am throwing some on the wife's minivan....fastest minivan in town! Actually, she liked the K&N filter.

NGK Iridiums installed today! Complete sucess.

NGK Iridium IX, BKR7EIX-11, stock number 6988

Pulled very strong and seemed stronger than before. Haven't tried the NOS with it yet but later tonight I might go a run or two.:rock: No problem either with starting up cold. However, not too cold down here. ha

I ran Denso Iridiums in my 01 Lightning.Seemed to help it some.The iridium part was like new when I changed them,but everything else was GONE.

I'm running Bosch 7527 FR8DCT but that is with the turbo. I think the kit came with NGK, but mine was missing the plugs. I can't answer the question about a stock engine. Really I can't answer any questions on spark plugs.

Did you change the plugs yourself bone? Just curious what arm extension you put on to reach the plugs in the back

According to NGK, they are the same temperature, or close to stock plugs. If you are changing plugs for NOS, you want colder.
