Is it bad taking off in second gear?

I was trying take off from a dig in 1st gear and my truck just keeps spinning in high rpms then I tryed taking off in 2nd gear at 2k rpm and just pop the clutch and the truck hooks real good and feels like it pulls more . Just wanted to know if it is bad doing that?

On street tires it should hurt anything, just burn your clutch up faster if your slipping it off the line any. I kniw it feels faster because its not spinning but using 1st is always the fastest way, go to a drag strip and try both ways then compare ythe time difference

poppin clutches is not good for youre clutch no.

But to be fast, u need to sacrefice...

it's not faster... i've tried it both ways...

and it's more stress on the drivetrain and especially the clutch...

if you had 5.13's it might be different...
