is my tranny broke

well thanks to my seal crapping out on me, i was on my way home from school and my tranny started whinning. i was 10 miles from home so i thought i would just take it easy and let the truck sit until i get my parts to fix the seal. i put two qts of M1 atf and just drove truck 200 ft and still whinning. Will this go away once i fix my seal and change the oil?

Yes?? I think the whining is just the gears? It doesn't sound good to say
the least.

what could be a possible cause of the whine? bearing going out cuz it got hot due to little lubrication?

i think your supposed to use dextron 4 atf

What is mobile 1 then? I thought I read mobil 1 was ok for these tranny.

the manuals use ATF? mopar is ATF +4 btw

mobil1 ATF is recommended by the maker TREMEC.

Yeah, if you got the Tremec T56 6-speed tranny then you can use :

These transmissions make a hell of a lot of noise so it's probly just the
gears whining from not enough lube.. but again i'm not real sure. I wish
i could be of more help

Well when I replace rear tailshaft ill look to see if there could be anything wrong. I might just be paranoid.

you should be fine, but if you were two quarts low, then it could have gotten hot and damaged the bearings.
the best thing to do is to drain the fluid, completely, and fill with fresh fluid,

but smell the old fluid, you should know if its bad or not, if it got too hot it will really smell burnt, but without dismantling the tranny you want really know if you damaged it or not ,unitil the noise really gets bad, or gears get extrememly stiff.

but replace the fluid, and see how she acts
