Has anybody ever heard of this disease before. A friend of my brothers wife has possibly contracted this disease..

Yep. Breakbone Fever. Mosquito borne. Either Dengue or Dengue Hemorrhagic. A buddy of mine got it down south. I ran a "public awareness" campaign on it's prevention just after Operation Just Cause down in Panama. It's PAINFUL but the symptoms are treatable. MUCH fluid and acetaminophen. Were they travelling in the tropics?

Big issue down in the keys a few months back. They expected it to spread north up Florida.
