currently i am running the four cats two super 40's withan hipe before the muffs. Is it legal for me to take off the two rear cats in tn? Will this help performance? The previous setup was just the four cats and straight pipe. Then before the wreck was 4 cats 2 magnaflows and no h pipe. Did not like the setup at all. I do not mind loud at all my bee was longtubes and and no cats running out in front of both tires. i just dont want get the headers until i find a suitable work truck. Thanks for the info...

I think Federally it's a No No to tamper with the emissions system. But what you can get away with locally could be a different story. The popular mods here are either straight pipes or delete the rear cats. They say deleting the rear cats give a big performance boost. I haven't messed with them so I can't comment. Maybe TNVIPER will chime in or one of the other TN members. Emissions inspections vary county to county so you need to check there.

deleate all yore cats and you will feel a big difference

just take em off. I run hollowed cats and am taking the mufflers off this weekend and run straight pipes. This is in New Jersey where they have the toughest laws.
