Israel rolling into Gaza

I believe that God says to turn ones cheek but if your entire Race is going to annihilated then go ahead and fight back...War is common in the Bible. People just like to bend the perspective according to their beliefs Ant-Knee.;)
 
I just wish that whole conflict in that area would simply stop. Both sides will never run out of bodies to take up the fight. Meanwhile the rest of the world has to share this planet being split between the two.

I'm not one to try and put down what anyone believes. I am just on a quest to understand... And frankly, I just don't understand all of this other than a race of people that, while being the original tenants to a land, were forced to accept that another race of people were granted a Heavanly right to occupy that same land, PERIOD. Then, there is no proof of this other than writings in a manual that could easily be manipulated to be interpreted in numerous different ways. Both sides believe in the same God but apparently this Heavanly plan wasn't disclosed in the original tenants' manual.

Whatever the story, the entire world is ultimately dragged into it (whether willingly or unwillingly).. Again, I probably just don't understand the underlying details that justify either side attacking the other. Be it subborness or ignorance, or probably a combination of both..

Money, Politics and Religion. The root of all that is evil. We tend to think that because we are Americans we are above acting like savages, but in the Middle East...this is a way of life. This isn't war, this an argument. Between God, Mohammed and Jesus.....and notice nobody ever sees the Holy Ghost?;)

In other words...this will never end. Never. We want it to, but how do you tell millions of children living in slums that the Jews are now their best friends and vice versa? How do you convince Jewish children that some brown man with a trench coat on in the middle of the summer isnt a bomber? Just not gonna happen.

War is hell...and it is someones business. Therefore, business is good.

as to this, you can't really say that, it was israelis (jews) land prior to it being palestinian, you can say the same thing about native americans but we live in peace with them i guess

This is just a subject I throw my hands up on and try not to think much of. I know what's happening to people over there isn't right, no matter what side of the border the carnage takes place. It's not my place to stop it or wish it away. It's just sad knowing it will rage on long after I'm gone.. Long after my childrens' children are gone.. Makes me damn sick.
 
What some who dont follow this conflict know is that hamas is a controlled orginization by Iran. Also as far as Palestine they were created by the british in the late 19th century. Palestine is refugees from syria lebenon, iran and other arab countries who dont want them back. Just think of 9/11 happening everday, this is what israelis have to deal with everyday. ANd talk about one sided news coverages these are the same people that cheered the terrorist on 9/11 so you reap what you sow.
 
Guys, I know a little about this crisis. What many of you don't realize was in 2000 the Israelis offered to establish a Palestinian state with a capital in East Jerusalem. They also offered to remove all settlements in Gaza and West Bank and give a billion dollars to help seed the government. As a matter of fact Ehud Barak agreed to give 97% of the demands that Arafat had asked for.

Now the but, Arafat demanded something called the right of return. What the right of return would be anyone that lived in the desert prior to 1948 can reclaim their land. It was akin to native americans saying well we will be taking Manhattan back now. Of course Israel would and should never agree to this.

Also, just a history lesson, Palestine as a country never existed. It was a british prefect from 1920-1948 and included Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and what would become Israel.

Europe shocks Israel, backs Gaza invasion

With the reins of the European Union passing from France to the Czech Republic last week, Europe instantly shifted from critical of Israel's assault on Gaza to supportive of the Jewish state's right to defend itself by any means necessary.

A statement issued by the Czech government on Saturday just hours after Israeli troops entered Gaza read:

"At the moment, from the perspective of the last days, we understand this step as a defensive, not offensive, action."

While France and England have played their usual roles, a number of other European governments have backed Israel's use of overwhelming force in response to eight years of terrorist rocket fire.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, meanwhile, telephoned Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Saturday evening and demanded that Israel immediately halt its Gaza operation.

Ban said he was "extremely concerned and disappointed" by Israel's decision to send ground forces into Gaza.

So it is ok to rockets and suicide bombers to blow up your citizens, but you cant defend yourself. WTF
 
So then, this is more about ignorance... Just as I suspected.. No matter what agreement is drawn up, there will be some level of opposition to keep it from getting off the ground.. If there was only a way to separate the two and put them on time out... Like kids..

Arafat was not Hezzbollah or Hamas sir....He was the head of the PLO. The other two groups mentioned are simply Bloods and Crips with a snazzy scarff used for id :marchmellow: The PLO was the governing body and held no affiliation with either...If it did then they could not be in consideration for peace talks. Israel does not negotiate with terrorist states. During times of cease fire and negotiation it was Arafat that had to control the 2 groups...He failed mostly thus not a lasting peace accord. Hamas is backed and funded by not only Iran sir...But Syria, Lebanon and up until recent years Lybia and Iraq. Peace in the Mid East will never be attained. It died along with Sadat.....Just sayin ;) :D

Actually, Hamas is a relative new comer on the scene in perspective of the middle east. Peace will never happen unless Egypt/Jordan/Turkey work together.

I thought Turkey kicked out Jews from their country... whom eventually moved into Israel.. I don't believe that part of the world is supposed to see peace.. At least not anytime soon..

If you read the Bible, they will never have pease untill the end times.
As far as war goes when God sent his people to war he told them to kill evey man, women, child and animal and take nothing.
Some people say this is cruel. Think what you want. It is Biblical and there is
wisdom in it. You want to be left alone, have no mercy!
 
IMO this just shows how ridiculous and pathetic organized religion is. These people have been fighting for thousands of years and will continue to do so for thousands more.

And make no mistake, the fight is over religion, not land. The only reason that the land becomes part of the issue is that their "holy" sites are in the same place. If you ask me that's simply because the stories that started their respective religions started out as one story, and they were bastardized in the tellings over the years. Sort of like that game in school where you whisper something to the next guy in line, and see how much the telling has changed by the end of the line.

So these folks will continue to kill and maim each other and each other's children in the name of their gods. Pretty sad if you ask me.

I've made no bones about the fact that I am agnostic, I still have not been convinced that any god or gods exist. But I'm pretty sure of this, if there is indeed a God, I don't buy for one second that he (or she) would want me out there killing in his name, or killing period.
