Jan 19/20th - West Coast and AZ GTG, and Track Day.

Scott, this is just an idea. I don't want to put that many miles on my ride. Some of the Guys mentioned they wanted to go to Barrett Jackson and some would like to go to the Firebird Event. If we started in the Tempe Area around 3 (midway from both events) then Old Town Scottsdale on to the Pavillions Car Show for a short stop then on Bell Road to 83rd and north to the 83rd Car Show for a short stop and then to Arrowhead area for dinner. This could take 3 or 4 hours. Suggest we stay away from the freeways or we will lose half the troops. Once the DPS spots us they will be on the look out. Remember it's Saturday and the task force is out there.

I am with 099 on this one.... Tucson is a long ways away.. and so is Tombstone...

Yeah but Detroit and NYC are even farther  I think..........:nurse: I tend to not think about myself sorry

wow..I hope this is all squared away by the 19th...or else there will be 20 groups of people or even people who don't show up entirely.

The "main" even is on the 20th correct??

So is the 19th the confusing day? I really dont care what we do as long as we all get to meet and hang-out.....Drive or no Drive, it should be about meeting some great folks.

OK, so the:

19th is a hangout / lunch / dinner / maybe a drive

and the 20th is Track / Race day....Which matches the sticky I believe (Think I remember reading it lol)

So the main question is "whats going on the 19th" correct? If so, why don't we meet at a location, go out to dinner, and hang out close to the hotel / at the hotel...? I know it might not be SUPER exciting, but its going to be tough to get EVERYONE to agree on 1 specific thing, the I'm sure the majority (as stated) probably is OK with hanging out and not putting 300 more miles then already driven (since most are driving 5+ hours to get there).

Just my opinion of course :D

I agree, Driving just to drive is not going to peg my fun meter.

I am happy just hanging out and getting to know the guys that I have not met in person, and hanging with old friends.

The best part of these GTGs is hanging out and laughing and joking with friends, both old and new.

:dontknow: Thinking...

Barrett Jackson (Scottsdale) Friday during the day.
Friday night cards at my house, or just hang if you want all are welcome.
Saturday wash up the rides, Saturday night cruise over to scottsdale for a club or watcha football game and get some cigars.
Sunday...see if dom's balls are as big as his engine:D :dontknow:

This is what would work. SUNDAY IS THE OFFCIAL TRACK DAY. There are places to hang out by me, parks, etc...

If you want to cruise toFirebird on Saturday fine...My car has an engine in it, it make the wheels turn. I also don't have sad in my vagina so I don't mind driving it.

Really my only goal is to not get a speeding ticket:D

Scott squared away the track and I thank him for his effort. I am in the Peoria/Glendale area and will be having a card game that friday (18th)night, after barrett Jackson

Jack, Patrick , Bob....what hotel are you staying at..?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
(a little hint as to who works hard to really make this happen for you)

I'm telling you guys, the parking lot GTG is the best route to go. Don't worry so much about driving around as to hangin out with each other..I assure you, most that are making the long trek this is all they really care about.. From there we can combine ideas on where to eat and so on. Hang out in one central location and let the details work themselves out..Sunday appears to be taken care of...

Mikey..your an Arizona guy now, quit being so hard on yourself.:p

The Tombstone thing is not a bad idea, if your a tourist and you came down to see the sites. If meeting and building amazing friendships with the great folks here is the main goal (and I think it is) then lets center around that. Get together, meet each other for the first time or see each other again AND JUST HANG OUT...
oh yeah..having the cops called on us is a must.

If history has told me anything, these times at the GTG are really the highlights. Ask around, I think the majority will agree...Yes you have a nice truck, but damn, I have one just like it...well..sort of.

Its really not not that complicated folks. Lets not start this off on a negative, especially for the really committed that are making a long journey..my opinion.:)

This is a GREAT IDEA! Especially cuz I like to drink and store bought beer goes down smoother than that expensive stuff found at restaurants and bars!;):p

Seriously, I am going to be jet lagged like a MOFO and I do not wanna spend all day driving around anywhere, if this is the case, I will have to bow out. I dont mind driving to get there, but once there...thats it.;)

But, I am just trying to get my 2 cents in and afterall, I'm still on the fence as far as coming until I get my checkride. If I dont make it for this, I will still be coming to AZ guys so be prepared for some hooters action!:D

Ok, my turn....

I have not really been to many GTGs but the ones that i have been to have been a blast!!! (with the exeption of one)

MOPAR NATS 06'-
Need I say more...Track and beer and meet other people. After the track Shawn, Ken, and I headed back to the hotel and hung out at the bar around the corner.....Hada a great time. (shut up Shawn AND Ken!)
One of the days most of us got together at that Wing place and had tons of fun...That trip was so much fun that well.......

We decided to make the drive to...WEST COAST GTG in Cali...

Track day as well but the times that we do remember is haging out and meeting new people. Then at the hotel parking lot all night with friends drinking a few beers...ok, ok...more than a few! Oh and eating MOSSs sandwiches.

Then...

MOPAR NATS 07'.......Well you guys seen the pics. We had so much fun there that we all bunked at the hotel across the street from the wing place from 06'. After that came the parking lot...AAAH GOOD TIMES!! A few of us pulled an all nighter there...Beer, friends, manager, beer, cops, burnouts, manager again, cops again, more beer, waitress from the wing place, chick on bike showing her boobs, and so on....

My point is I dont care what goes on but Im with the others on this...Hang out at the hotel and decide on a place to go to dinner there...and who knows...maybe we can all caravan to the restaurant and get the cruise out of the way!

Oh and by the way...Phoenix to Tombstone is only 186 miles!!!:drive:

Correct the main event is the 20th SUNDAY AT SPEEDWORLD.

19th is the day that is confusing, I set that day up as a whatever happens, happens day.

I agree... lets just pick a spot and time to all meet at, then come to a decision on what were goona do, what restuarnant were goona crash and eat at... if were goona hit car shows great, if the cops get called on us... even better... :D

But most of all we need to come to some sort of uniformity on whats going to happen, we have alot of poeple come from long ways away to be here.

I'm still trying to get these days off of work. If not, I'll be off at 7. I hope some of you ogres are still awake!! hahaha. :p
