After installation, does the JMB box still pull from the fender with air routed via the scoop/air dam on the back side of the grill, or do we remove the air dam behind the grill for direct flow into the CAI enclosure? Any concern about pulling water?

Thanks,
oldguy

I personally took it off because it didnt look good (the plastic liner). There is no great fear of pulling in water as there is enough shielding from massive quantities of water entering the engine bay. I have noticed no problems with mine.

I have not removed the plastic shield as yet, Wanted to see how it works as is. Only been a week since install. I to worry about water, As it is a daily driver.Yes even when it pours.

I've had the plastic liner removed since I bought my truck and had the kn cai never a water problem. Of course my truck has never been in the rain.

I have my plastic shield on.
I also have my intake angled quite a bit steeper than RedRamRules.
If by chance water does get to the filter, it will have a helluva time climbing up the intake tube. :)

Help

Where can I get a JMB? Sorry...i'm a newbie....I have a 04 RC Flame Red and just bought a 06 QC Inferno Red.:dontknow:

Yup, gotta move that thing outta there. It's not that bad. You just have to remove the tire and pull the plastic liner in the wheel well to make installation easier.

I dont have the JMB, but I have the MOPAR CAI and it looks like installation might be about the same.:dontknow:

I would get the JMB CAI though vs. the MOPAR....his looks cooler. But my next mod will be a SC so no more CAI's for me.:D

I run the JMB.
The Battery Tray Storage Box *can* stay installed with the JMB system.

-With the JMB, the pass. side battery tray *can* stay.
-With the K&N or the MOPAR system, he pass. side battery tray needs to be removed for installation.

(Also, you don't have to remove the wheel to get the wheel well liner out. It's nice to have the extra room, but not necessary.)

My JMB went in right next to the storage box Kevan built, no problems!

The foam you have on the original box should just peel off and re-stick back on.
If that method doesn't work out, let me know and I'll send you another piece.
(They're fun to line up and get smooth. LOL)

the plastic shield is there to guide air into the radiator. if you remove it, and create an easier airflow path around the radiator, then you will lose cooling.

in this case, the radiator fan might be working overtime to keep the motor cool even at speed. but maybe not - it's just why its there in the first place.
