Big thanks goes out to Justin, as usual, for making some outstanding looking parts.:D I've been sitting on these for awhile and finally found some time to devote to my truck and got some things done. Huge thanks also goes to Calvert Racing for awesome customer service with the cal-tracs; I didn't buy them from Calvert but they exchanged the wrong parts I had and sent me the correct mounting bracket for a lowered truck at no cost to me. Its hard to find a company that would go to those lenghts for someone who's not even a customer.
I got the cal-tracs to help with the vibration issue I've been having when I launch from a dead stop, however, they did not cure it and I have them preloaded a full turn.:dontknow: Still trying to find out how to get rid of that. Might be going to the QA1 shocks or raising the truck up closer to original ride height. Also installed a new carrier bearing with Pat's help and Kevin brought the Rocky Mountain refreshments:cheers: (thanks guys and your friend too Pat, can't remember his name) and shimmed it using 2 additional washers and STILL the vibration remains:mad: . Any help and other suggestions are needed badly!!

if you raise it to regular height youll have to call calvert and order the new bottoms they are different, ask me how i know, oh and the price is 70.00 with u bolts.

I would strongly suggest different tires if you're still running the smelly pirellis. Even if they've been road-force balanced, they can do wierd stuff under heavy loads.

I have had several people in the industry (and this forum) comment on the poor uniformity these have.

Its not the tires, the vibration started after I installed Boomer's drop kit. It was dropped 2x4 and then the shackles that came with the kit were installed to bring the rear up another inch since the ride quality sucked and I was always hitting the rear bumpstops when going over the slightest bump in the road. Carrier bearing was torn and subsequently replaced, cal-tracs were installed and pinion angle was set by a shop that specializes in Dodge trucks for off-road use so they are familiar with the two-piece driveshafts and pinion angle. I feel the vibration will only go away once I bring the truck back to stock ride height, i.e. remove the drop kit but I love the look of it lowered.

Nice:rock: I love my caltracs. Get a Clink clink sound yet? But yeah the caltracs are very effective.

How difficult was the install of the Caltracs? Is that something I can do in the driveway or do you need some sort of specialized tools?

patrick
Patrick mine took 2 hours with 2 people working on it:dontknow:

The hardest part of installing them is removing the front leaf spring bushing and replacing it with the new ones that come with the cal-tracs. They're a PITA to remove and install by hand, using a press will make it much easier. If you don't have access to a press, other members have heated it up to remove it and thrown the new ones in the freezer so they shrink and then putting them in is a snap! Good luck
