First of all, a huge thanks to Joe Donovan at Performance by Joe in St. Louis MO, not only is he a great tuner, he is a great friend. He is never satisfied, and I finally had to tell him to stop so we can go grab some food and brews! We had problems eliminating the lean spot that the SRT's have for the first 1.5 seconds or so on the N/A pulls. The VEC3 is supposed to eliminate this according to Sean@Roe, so Im sending mine in for an upgrade. Peak #'s didnt change a whole lot on the N/A tune, but from 3500-4500 there are big increases, 25+HP in spots and even more torque. This is tuned without N20 (before and after Belangers, and then tuned):

This is the 125 hit (100 wet and 25 dry):

and the 175 hit (150 wet and 25 dry):

175shot2.JPG

And both:

571/684 on a 125 and 606/762 on the 175, I was VERY pleased! It made the advertised HP#'s under the curve on both hits as well. I forgot my jets to dial in the 175 on A/F (a little lean), but im going to tune on the street with my AEM to get it finalized. The 125 shot couldnt be any better on A/F IMO.
Trucks mods are:
PBJ Tune
VEC2
Belangers
Custom JMB dual 3" exhaust
JMB CAI/CC
Custom NX by JMB and PBJ

Very nice ;) Looking forward to similar if not a little bigger numbers on mine after I install your kit :D

Nice Justin. That lean spot is the WOT time delay. That is eliminated with the stage II pcm flashes as well. BOOMER or DC Perf can eliminate that with a pcm flash, probably alot cheaper than you can upgrade to the VEC III.;)

Sean upgrades your existing VEC2, so you dont have to buy a new box or anything like that. Im sending mine out today since its supposed to be nasty weather all week :(

justin, the WOT timer is in the stock pcm background, you can anticipate with tuning, but cant eliminate it, without doing a pcm reprogram to turn it off. you will still get lean spikes, especially at gear shifts

vey nice....let's see the 250 shot numbers.....:D

Thanks for the insight Gary, hopefully the VEC3 will fix this as it is supposed to get rid of the closed loop to open loop time delay transition.

Mike, I didnt have the balls for that, I was scared of the 175, but I had two friends that I had to put up bigger #s than they did :)

it doesn't take balls to do a 250 shot on a stock block....it takes rocks.....in your head....:D ....

Boulders in the head for a 300 shot then... Not too mention litte metal grindings everywhere... :vroam:

I think my previous motor represents that response :)

Only 4 left.

nice numbers bro! Your install is triiiick! I still have the stock PCM. I wonder if I kept in the 150nos jet and went down to a 125 fuel jet what would happen? I just have a feeling the truck is getting too much fuel. If its too much fuel......would the truck pick up power by keeping the NOS jet the same and going to a smaller fuel jet?

You would have to put a wideband on it to see, but if its very rich, then you would definitely pick up power. I always shoot for 12.0 A/F (my 125 chart is dead on), so Im going up two sizes on my 175 shot fuel jets and will see what it does on the street (using an AEM wideband).
Justin

Justin...where did you get your AEM wideband and how much did it cost? I'm looking to get one for Joe to install when the truck comes out there in April. Stinker gave me a link for an AEM...just trying to find a great price on one.

And that my friends is my 1000 post...horry for me :star: :star: :dancing: :burnout:   :)
