Honeslty?

its a gimmick truck, its worth no more than a reg truck with the same options, even tho it has the extra stuff.
they make a ton of profit on those rides.

When I worked at the dealership we did the same thing, had a special line of so called special performance rides, marked up greatly.

problem is , a week after you bought it , and decided to trade it in?............................they would only give you what a reg truck or car would trade for.:(

Love and miss the inside creature comforts of my old Sierra. Oh the gas mileage was great also! Although I have not rode in a Joe Gibbs edition my old sierra rocked and I would love one as a daily driver!

you're a big-time Chevrolet fan but the new Silverado SS leaves you wanting, especially in contrast to its rivals. How does 14.5 at 97.2 in the quarter-mile sound compared to the Silverado SS' 15.0 at 89.1? Add better handling and looks--all for less money than the SS--and, for those of you that prefer to shift for yourselves, a manual transmission, which isn't even available on an SS. If that sounds too good to be true, fear not: Joe Gibbs Performance is building the truck of your dreams. Yes, that Joe Gibbs, previously in the NFL and currently of NASCAR fame.

JGP starts with a base standard-cab Silverado (the lightest model) with a 4.8-liter V-8 engine and manual transmission. The company adds on the JGP Base Package, which includes a Gibbs-designed front fascia with foglamps, Gibbs' exclusive tailgate spoiler; a Gibbs-engineered stainless-steel cat-back exhaust with dual tips, and fender and tailgate badges. Gibbs-designed 20x8.5-inch Hyper Silver wheels with Goodyear Eagle LS P275/55R20 tires are matched to a tuned suspension. Interior appointments include an exclusive JGP instrument cluster, logo-embroidered floormats and seat backs, a dash plaque, and an upgraded shifter, all for $6500 over the cost of the stock truck.

The JGP Silverado is allocated through select Chevrolet dealers via a ship-through code, which means you order and pick it up from the dealer. JGP offers three options--two JGP-installed and one dealer-installed. Our tester had all three, including the dealer-installed supercharger/intercooler package ($5000), which gives you a Gibbs-designed Roots-type intercooled-supercharger that Gibbs says makes 390 horsepower and 425 pound-feet of torque. It's so docile, powerful, and quiet, we had to lift the hood to verify it was a supercharged 4.8-liter engine. It's got enough power to trounce the 6.0-liter SS.

Sounds like a hell of a daily driver to me... I would just make sure that I was not thinking it would replace the 10... Nothing will...

It will NEVER come close to the 10,much less replace it.I just needed some info on it.I need a more comfortable truck for daily driving (really weekend, cuz I have a company van for the week and my 99 4x4 isn't a plush ride) and I have been looking at the SS Silverados (used are going for 20 to 24 thousand in nice condition) .
I just spotted this Joe Gibbs Performance Silverado. It is a good looking truck and supposedly gets decent gas mileage,if you stay out of the throttle.I can't find a decent Ram at a good price.I have been looking for a long bed standard or extended cab,or a short bed standard cab in BLACK,of course.

I would say go for it Hot Ram:rock: jsut badger the hell outta them:D

pull a good routine, tell them ya know the addons dont add anything to the value of the truck, that you could have problems, if they dont want to budge too much or even if they do, demand some sort of warranty due to the add ons;) use it as a barganing issue:D

Thanks for the advice. I like that it is white and supercharged, but only 390hp ? I like that the SS is cheaper (22k) and also all wheel drive.

Decisions,decisions, decisions

However a new Sierra has a warranty

but the sales taxes, personal property taxes

I need a 66 Chevy with a good 350 and auto trans
cool factor,low taxes (if any)
