Blue is ok, but not worth the price....

..... Although, Bourbon is a strange thing.... everyone's taste is different. Dude I know had a bottle of Blue at his house a couple of weekends ago. He was so drunk when we got over there, he wanted to do shots and whipped the bottle out... I kinda smirked and said "ya, sure! ... pour 'em". LOL! :dontknow: I'll drink expensive shit whenever I'm not paying for it. :rock: I kinda felt bad for shooting a "sipping" liquor, but, whatever.

...... Buy a bottle of Maker's and relax.... spend some of the extra money on a fine cigar and spend the rest on the truck. :rock: :burnout:

BTW, Crown Royal also offers an 'XR', extra rare, version of their Can. Whiskey.It's a rare and old blend from their old Waterloo distillery. About $170.00 a 1/5th here in NC. I just sold a bottle yesterday :marchmellow:

For me , after drinking Single Malts ( http://www.theglenlivet.com/ ), all Johnny Walkers products taste like medicine . All you need to spend is $80. If I had to drink a blended scotch the only blend I would drink is Dewars

Blue label is good and knocks you on your ass IMO. Can get it for $150 in parts of NY. I think a big difference between gold and blue though. Gold makes me want to puke for some reason :dontknow:

I bought a bottle as a welcome home present for myself when I got back from Iraq.
IMHO, it's not worth it. Get a bottle of Crown Royal CASK NO. 16:rock: That's some good stuff, and it's less than half the price

I have tried the Old Fitzgerald, it's pretty good, and the price is usually good too! (I had to try it, since Fitzgerald is a family name)

I still prefer Maker's Mark over OF, but it's good stuff!
To me, the Maker's is more mellow, and maybe a tad smoother...

Both are Kentucky Straight Bourbons, and both are aged about the same length of time (About 2 years for the regular batch stuff).
Straight Whiskey is a whiskey which has been aged in charred new oak containers for 2 years or more and distilled at not more than 80 percent alcohol by volume but is derived from less than 51% of any one grain. (From Wiki)
I think the way that Maker's ages there's is what makes it smoother, but I don't know.

Well I have been able to sample many different kinds of fine liquor. I have had Johnny Walker Green and Blue, Makers Mark, Knob Creek, Dewars, And Glenfiddich 15 year old and 18 year old. And in my opinion I think the Glenfiddich 15 year old is the best.

The others are very good, but something about the Glenfiddich just tastes better to me. And it's not that much money for the 15 year old.
